Code Need the Remote control code for Polaroid LCD Flat Panel for use with Direct TV remote control. Not in TV manual and TV not listed on remote list that comes with the remote.

    I had a similar problem with a 19" Polaroid trying to program an rc23 direct tv remote. The packaging suggested using code 0178 for direct tv remotes and that did not work. I used the onscreen menu to look at codes for other models and found they all were 5 digits with a leading "1". So I tried 10178...it worked. :-)

SOURCE: My Polaroid TV model not listed, it's TLX-04240B

I got the 42" Polaroid HDTV from Walmart (on Black Friday) and was able to link it to my Tivo remote using the Mitsubishi setting and code 0001.
1. Tivo Central 2. Settings
3. Remote Control 4. Part 1 and then Part 3
I use it to Power On/Off and Volume control.

Here are some remote control codes that have worked to control Polaroid HDTVs:

  1. My 19" w/DVD uses the following Mitsubishi code: 10178
  2. Dish Network remotes: 627, 659, or 688
  3. DirecTV RC64 remote control revealed a code of 10835. This means that 10835, 0835, 835 or some variant many work with many programmable remote controls. On my DirecTV DVR system, this was indicated as a Moxell and/or Motorola TV code.
  4. Use the mitsubshi tv codes they worked for me.
  5. Try Element codes if they are listed in your remote code list.

Polaroid TV remote control codes for Tivo
As I understand it, Polaroid TV's sometimes work with the Mitsubishi codes. You may give this a try. You may also e-mail Polaroid direct at www.polaroidelectronics.com contact page to find out what codes should be used (may match a different manufacturer)
