I borrowed my nieghbors power washer. It worked the first day all day. In the morning i filled the gas with a fuel stabiler, and 30 oil. I may have over filled it. Upon turning it on the oil started leaking from the air filetr compartment. It starts, but then smokes starts to fume and all the oil leaks. Did I break it or is it a easy fix. I cleaned the filter housing. Also the filter was soaked with oil. should i get a new filter and install it or what is the solution. need help.

You will need to get a new filter, and drain some of the oil out of the machine. If you over fill these this will happen. 90% of the time nothing is broken.

Fuel system Husqvarna HU775H

Add cleaner to the fuel and use the machine. Then add stabilizer to your gas can before filling it. Modern gasoline goes stale after 30 days. Gas will form varnish in your fuel system if left for extended periods causing various degrees of problems up to preventing the machine from running at all. Gas stabilizer is absolutely required for out of season storage or you risk a carburetor clean and rebuild.

Toro ride on wont start

Battery required? Charge battery or replace. Replace air filter and spark plug. Dump out old oil and replace with 30w oil. Electric start may have a fuse blown. Dump out old gas fill with new with Stabile always added to gas. Try spraying starter spray in carb at air cleaner with filter removed. All mowers have a low oil sensor to prevent starting on low oil. Remove bowl from carb, should be full of gas. Pinch off fuel line with pliers or turn fuel valve off. Check float should be hanging down allowing fuel flow. Float up stops fuel flow.

Air Conditioning not working properly

My wife once mistakenly topped off the tank with diesel instead of gas. Same symptoms. Gas also goes bad when it sits in a tank for several months without a stabilizer. Try adding a fuel stabilizer and filling the tank with high-octane premium gas.

New 18" Poulan Pro 42 cc saw, mixed up new gas

Don't use stabil. Use a modern synthetic saw oil (50:1 fuel to oil ratio) available at home centers, hardware stores, and saw dealers. Mix the oil and fuel in it's own container and be sure to shake the container thoroughly just before filling the tank each time to prevent oil starvation. If it becomes apparent that the carburetor adjustments are wrong, you will need to see your dealer for adjustment. Good luck!

What type of oil and gasoline do you nee d to run Craftsman 6.5 lawn mower?

generally all 4-cycle lawn mower engines are tuned to use regular unleaded gas ,(I personally use mid or high grade unleaded)....and for engine oil use strait 30 WT engine oil...... I often put a dash of fuel system cleaner in each gallon of lawn mower gas,it is not absolutely neccessary but seems to help moisture stay out of gas..(DO NOT USE HEET or other methenol based fuel additives for this can cause overheating or scoring of piston and cylinder...but rather use a petroleum based additive, this allows the small amounts of moisture in fuel to pass through the carbeurator without clogging filters or fuel system for smoother running)..also...if you put lawn mower up for winter it is always helpful to use a fuel stabilizer such as "STABIL" or other such products (follow directions for use) and be sure to change the crank case oil in the spring before using....this will give you much longer life from your lawn mower...
Keep air filter clean!!!..... Happy mowing!!!....so, the answer?...regular unleaded and 30wt engine oil...if you would like..they have special engine oil for 4-stroke engines at most hardware and walmarts n such...but is just expensive 30wt oil... Enjoy your day,Todd

Homelite 25cc 2cycle trimmer.built in March of 1999. what is the proper oil to gas ratio?

If you use a synthetic 2-stroke oil, you can easily get by running a 40:1 ratio mix...that is 3.2oz oil/gallon of gas. A richer oil mix won't hurt either (say 20:1 (2X the oil of 40:1). I recommend synthetic always be used alongwith Stabil fuel treatment because after about 30 days, gas loses its volatility and begins to breakdown without it...causing fuel problems.

I have a mini cooper and would like to put it up

Fill the gas tank and add fuel stabilizer to prevent condensation from forming in the tank. Run the engine so the stabilizer gets through the system, I add a small amount of marvel oil to fuel as well. Get an automatic battery tender and connect it to the battery (if you have available power) Change the engine oil (old oil has acids in it that are not good for the bearings). It is good to support the vehicle on cement blocks under the chassis to relieve pressure on the suspension but that is optional. If no power is available, remove the battery...there are systems that will eventually drain it if connected. Store the battery fully charged, in a place where it is not on a cement floor and is not brutally cold. Even with stabilizer, fuel will loose a lot of it's "punch" after 30 days so don't be upset if performance drops off for a while after getting it back on the road in Spring.
