A washing machine may wiggle, rattle or move across the floor. It is often accompanied by excessive, or loud noise. There can be several causes and the problem is worse with some units more than others. The most common cause is an unbalanced wash load. Open the lid/door, and attempt to redistribute the clothing to balance the weight. Heavy loads, especially things like comforters, are more likely to become unbalanced than small loads. If you do a lot of heavy loads, you should consider a heavy duty/large capacity washer when it comes time to replace your current unit. A washer must be level both from side to side as well as from front to back. Washing machines have adjustable feet to enable you to level them. See your manual on how to level your washing machine. The outer tub/basket, is supported by springs, pistons or counterweights to keep it balanced. The weight of all that water in a wash load requires a powerful balancing mechanism. If the balancing system becomes detached from one or more points, it will not be able to balance the load properly. Furthermore, even if everything appears to be in place, as the appliance ages, the springs or pistons/shock absorbers, may begin to wear out and not support as much weigh as needed.

In order to check properly for internal issues, unplug the washer and open the cabinet. Because of the variety of balancing mechanisms, you will have to inspect your machine to determine how it is balanced. Once you discover the mechanism, then inspect it for integrity. In the case of old parts that appear to be in working order, you may not be able to tell if they need to be replaced. They may be weak but appear to be in good condition. If no other solution resolves the problem, then replacing the balancing springs or other moving support parts may be the best action.Another common cause for excessive movement, or rocking, is the floor on which the washer sits. The washer is heavy and even more so when filled with water. Any floor, other than a concrete slab, will tend to pick up and amplify the vibrations from the machine. There are a couple things you can try. If you have access to the joists under the floor, you may be able to beef up the support. Another thing to try is placing a large sheet of plywood under the washer. It should be 3/4" or even 1" thick and as large as possible to distribute the weight. Use a sheet big enough for both the washer and dryer to sit on. If possible fasten the plywood to the existing floor.

What's broken to make washing machine drum unlevel

If this is a front loader washer then the springs holding the drum in place (inside the washer) are weak and off balance or the bearings are damaged.
Need some detailed mechanical check. See this post on this topic.

Model number HAV2558AWW. Despite being level. The washer walks out of my laundry room. It doesn't matter what type of load I wash heavy or light. Is there a way to fix this proble.

The one most important thing about a washer is that all four legs need to be firmly in contact with the floor, and the floor needs to be rigid. Check that and let me know if that helped.

My husband purchased a Maytag Neptune front load washer model # MAH8700AWW about 5 years ago. The washer works great and we have never had any problems until recently. We just had pergo floors installed in...

you may need to put some anti vibration shock pads under the legs or some two sided tape to put on the feet to help secure it to the floor it may be slipping on the new floor surface

LG front loading washer: recently moved to a new house and laundry room is on the 2nd floor. Re-installed the shipping bolts in the back of the washer that secures the drum prior to moving the washer. But...

Make sure machine is level and all four leveling legs are solidly touching floor at the same time. Make sure leveling leg locking nuts are screwed up to lock legs in place. Check floor for firmness. (try bouncing up and down in front of washer to see if the floor has excessive give.) You may need to re-inforce floor. Wash larger loads. On bulky items, use a lower spin speed. You can re-spin at a higher speed after cycle is complete if you want them spun out better. (some models have a pump and spin only setting, on others, just turn on the power and then only touch the spin speed button to select a 14 minute pump and spin only cycle, then touch the start button.) The only other thing is that the new LG washers use a balance ring now, which makes the machine perform much smoother. (I know because I gave my old LG to my son and replaced it with the newer model, which now runs much quieter, in the exact same location as the old one.)

Kenmore 80 series will agitate but not spin or let water out.

Hi, I know washer had a party, he just need a dancing partner, joking, that's a common problem, when machine is not properly level, you should used spirit level, to level machine, after leveling machine, place both hands on machine, and try to rock it from left to right, forward and backward, and it should not have any play, if there's play adjust legs to compensate, water has to be pumped out first before machine spins, rhere's something wrong with water pump, maybe some fabric stuck in pump impeller, or maybe wires disconnected from water pump, remove back of machine and check connection to water pump, check for kink hoses, visual check, if wire were remove, connect to water pump, you're smart. good luck.

We moved the washer to a different room. When we

Was the place where it was the original laundry room. If so outlet was probably a dedicated line not hook to any other outlets. Now you moved and plugged into outlet that is not dedicated other items are probably being used on same circuit or breaker is to small, should be 20amp.
