My LG Plasma tv 50pb4d constantly turn itself off. Has been doing it for a year.is this a common problem and can it be fixed?

Is there a solution without replacing main board ?

audio lag is normal for many TV's.

Deal with this problems before.Sorry,tv some how the plasma screen itself,it is shorted and plasma screen it is dead.This problems ur tv have it is nothing to do with it elctronics boards problems.This tv it not repairable except by replaced the whole plasma screen as u know the screen are 90% important to tv and in limited in production by the tv corporation.Nowhere to buy the screen,but except the tv corporations themselves.By replacing the plasma screen,will cost the same as a new tv.

LG have a firmware upgrade on thier website for this issues. I did it on mine - worked a treat.

If you are in Australia and have no sound on GEM and 7-Mate, follow the instructions here, to update the TV's (LG 50PB4D-AA) firmware. Once done you will receive sound on these channels.

I am having the same problem with my LG 60" plasma. However, now it will not come on at all? Have you found out what the problem is?

Since the set is less than 1 year old, it should still be under warranty. Request warranty service.

The noise you are hearing is probably arcing inside the set on the power supply board. Continuing to attempt to turn on the set will only make things worse. Please request warranty service as this is unusual for a TV that new.

The logical fix would be to activate your 3 year warranty, messing about yourself is unlikely to fix it and very likely to void your warranty. The time for do it yourself repairs is when you have no warranty.

it is a common problem I deal with constantly, the main power board was overloaded there is most likely damage to the capacitors or a transformer on this board. you will need some service tech to take a look for you so he can identify the issue. hope this clear up what you need to do
