1 Inspect Air Filter Clogged or Dirty Air Filter. 2 Inspect Fuel Filter Clogged or Dirty Fuel Filter. 3 Inspect PCV Valve Clogged Emission System. 4 Inspect Choke Thermostat Stuck or Improperly Functioning Choke Thermostat. 5 Inspect EGR Valve Improperly Functioning or Faulty EGR Valve. 6 Inspect Carburetor Carburetor FLOODING. 7 Inspect Valve Burned, Worn, or Sticking Exhaust Valves. 8 Inspect Hose (PCV)at Clogged or Collapsed PCV Hoses.

My car is sputtering and dying. If I try to restart it, it will immediately go into sputtering/dying mode. If I wait a while an hour or so it will start up and drive fine.

When was the last time that the carburetor was stripped and cleaned? Also have you checked the fuel filter? Finally, the problem seems to come and go as the engine is run (and it gets hot) check that the fuel line and any electrical cables are well away from the hot engine as far as is possible.

Don't assume the codes...check them every time. What year Taurus?
Has fuel filter been replaced? Have you cleaned the MAF sensor? don-ohio (:^)

I have a 95 firebird formula LT1 that will sputter and want to die. This will only happen if I drive for about 30 minutes then stop and shut off the car for 15 minutes. Once I start it after that it bogs...

map censor... manafold absolute pressure censor.. the mecanics have a hard time finding this censor it is secondary to the motor circuts but it will cause the motor to die then restart in a short time...$30.00 autozone
