Turn console of, hold sync button down wich is the small white button next memory card slots, while holding turn on console and wait till it boots. If this does not work go to system blade, select memory, press y on the HD symbol, press xx left bumper right bumper xx, select yes. This will restart your console from scratch though all profiles and saved data will be lost, but it will clear any corupt data.

SOURCE: Xbox360 3 flashing red lights

Google up the red ring of death. Its a common over-heating problem on Xbox 360s. There are various solutions to this problem. The most recommended one is to take your console to Microsoft to get it checked. If you dont have an xbox 360 representative in your country as is my case, the second best solution is to buy a new 360 which comes more "prepared" for this issue. If you dont feel like spending 400 dolars on a newer model of the 360 then you should try some of the alternative temporary fixes. Most fixes have been reported as temporary, although if you are lucky maybe your Xbox 360 will last a long time fixed.

Basically solutions require to void your guarantee. Any fix which requires you to open your Xbox (the thermal-paste and the rubber fixes, etc (i will post link at end of comment)) will automatically void the guarantee. Theres a temporary solution which almost always works which is to wrap your xbox into towels without the hard drive and cables, only the power cable pluged in, and the console turned on. It will heat up and after 10 or 15 minutes unwrap it, let it cool down and you'll be playing in no time. Although this is definitely not recommended as you will be over-heating lots of components which are working well and could damage them. Well, hope this link works and saves you money. http://www.fixya.com/support/t142158-3_flashing_red_lights

SOURCE: xbox shuts down during a game 3 red lights

hey johnny you will have to call microsoft and get it fixed there is one thing you can do in the mean time to temp fix it.

what you need is two towels just normal bathroom towels take everything out of your xbox e.g harddrive, controlers etc only things to leave in is the av cable and power supply as you wanna turn on the xbox lie a towel flat on the ground and lie the xbox on its side ontop of the towel turn the xbox on, you will see the error message and the red lights flash. wrap the towel around your xbox covering the air vents and then the 2nd towel put over the top. leave it on in the towels for about 20 mins then after that take all the towels off turn off the console and leave to cool down for 15 mins. turn the xbox on and it should restart again fine but only lasts for a couple of days then you have to do it again. wont fix it but will let u play while microsoft gets it.

hope this helps please rate me

When I turned on my system, it had system error contact xbox customer support. There is a red light flashing on the bottom right, around the power button. I don't know what to do. Please help.

Some of us suddenly when we turn on our Xbox 360 console one day we got one red light flashes on the ROL (Ring of Light) around the Xbox 360 power button, and we got an Error message appearing on the TV screen "System error" also might occur with any error code like E66, E67, E68, E71, E74 or E77, all the same.
systemerrore74.jpg
When you get any of these messages appearing on your screen with one red light flashing on the ROL of your Xbox 360 console that's an indicator of a hardware problem with the console connection to one of the parts connected to it as the hard drive or cables.

oneredlight.jpg
So, first disconnect all power and AV cables from the back of your Xbox 360 console and also unplug the power cord from the wall socket, wait for a minute then reconnect them all back and try to turn on your Xbox 360 console once more.

If that doesn't work, it seems then to be a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so turn off the console again and remove the hard drive then turn on your Xbox 360 console without the hard drive, supposed then to work fine, it might be an intermittent issue and when you reconnect the hard drive your Xbox 360 will work fine all after, or it will just work fine without the hard drive so it will be then definitely a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so call Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the hard drive for you.

The Xbox 360 console might even keep giving you the same error code even after you remove the hard drive so it will then appear to be a fault with your Xbox 360 console not the hard drive & also in a case like this we need to contact Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the console.

Power went out i tryed to turn the xbox360 back on it didnt work

Take the Hard drive off, unplug the power wire from the wall, and plug it in to a different outlet, make sure the RCA (red, white, yellow)cables are still connected from Xbox to TV(or this will give red lights when turned on) and with that done, turn the unit on. Are the lights gone?

When i turn my xbox 360 on it starts running hard then the controller lights on the device start flashing red.

Four lights around the power button flash red on your Xbox 360 console. Four flashing lights indicates that the console does not detect an audio/video (AV) cable.
Note Four flashing red lights will not appear on consoles that have both an AV port and an HDMI port.

I soldered ana chip & tightened gpu chip. after switching on the set green light appeared for 5/6 sec. changing to 2 red lights. 2nd time only red lights came . Now it's not turning on.

1. Let your Xbox 360 console cool. You may have to wait several hours for your Xbox 360 console to cool enough. Don't turn on your Xbox 360 console when the console is hot. 2. Verify that your Xbox 360 console has enough ventilation and that the fans are operating. For more information about ventilation, see the "More Information" section. 3. If the two lights continue to flash red after you try steps 1 and 2, contact Xbox Customer Support. For more information about how to contact Xbox Customer Support, please visit the Xbox Support (http://www.xbox.com/support/) Web site.

Xbox 360 two red lights

The fan sounds like it is malfunctioning. Two red lights mean the 360 is overheating. I suggest you don't turn on the 360 until you get the fan replaced as this may damage your 360 more and lead to more problems with the motherboard. If its under warranty then you should get it fixed for free but if not then you might have to pay.

Xbox 360 re red flashing lights

depends on how many red lights are flashing...

if you have 3 flashing red lights your machine has a hardware failure which means unfortuanatly your beloved is dead. in which case take it back to the shop and demand a new one. this is a very common problem.

if its only one red light the problem is your av/component cables are not connected correctly....good luck
