Hi Anonymous,

Typically, the speakers need to be plugged into the green audio port on the back of your computer, or use HDMI cable, if your system can use one.

HOW DO I CONNECT A GATEWAY LP2207 TO GET THE AUDIO TO WORK?

Some monitors do not have speakers (my HP monitor does not). The sound has come out of some external speakers attached to the tower. Or maybe you need to access the monitors on-screen menu to turn the speakers on (if they have speakers). Or maybe you can access the monitor speaker control through the PCs Device Manager option (this is where all external components attache to the PC can be viewed, and sometimes changed).

I cannot turn up the volume on my monitor

The Samsung B2030 LCD Monitor has no speakers, you cannot turn the volume up on it. Instead turn the volume up on the speakers, or on the computer itself.

No sounds are coming from the speakers. We have tried restarting, turning off the screen and turning it back on, and even uplugging the speakers and plugging them back in...what is the problem?

replace the cable going from the cpu to the monitor. this can be the only solution other than an internal issue with the monitor, or speaker failure

Sony vaio monitor with internal speakers

There should be an audio cable coming out of Monitor, you'll need to plug that cable in the ouput jack of sound card, turn on/increase the volume of the speakers using the switch, slider present on the monitor and then check. you may also consult the manual that came along with the monitor.

I'm frustrated. Love the picture on my Acer 22" monitor with speakers, but the sound is very poor. I have the volume for the computer turned up, but still can barely hear the sound. What can be done to...

Built-in monitor speakers are usually not the best quality. The monitor should have it's own volume control have you tried adjusting it?

You can use external speakers by plugging them into the same jack in the back (green) of the PC instead of the monitor.

No sound coming from speakers.

Did you run the audio cable from the computer to the monitor. If not you must have that for the speakers to work. If yes can you verify computer output with another pair of speakers to narrow it down to computer or monitor. If it is the monitor built in speakers that are the problem reply and we can go through a procedure to get them working.
