How to connect an aux audio cable from Kenwood krc 705 to Ipod Photo

I just bought an aux audio cable for Kenwood krc 705. I knew that cable support every model excep my model. But I still bought it because that cable can plug into the back of my Kenwood unit. When I plug the cable in, my Ipod is charged, but the sound couldn't be transfered from Ipod to the that Kenwood unit. Can you help me? Thanks. Please email me at: [email protected]

Does the Kenwood KDC MP5032 have an aux input? If so, where is it?

Hi there,

Kenwood utilize the CD Changer plug in the back (which acts as a secondary Aux input), to operate external iPod devices.

This is done with the aid of an Adapter Lead - it has the 13-pin DIN plug on one end (plugs into the rear of your unit), and an iPod plug on the other end (plugs into your iPod).

Depending on the "Generation" of your external iPod device, you will need to buy the appropriate Kenwood adapter cable. These are: KCA-IP102, KCA-IP202 or KCA-IP302.

There may be some aftermarket (3rd party) cables that may do the same job.

Just ensure you read your Kenwood manual, as the Kenwood unit may be limited to the types of files (i.e. formats) it can read & play.

Hope this explains....

Cheers,

Yes you can connect ipod to the Aux port by using 3mm cable. Only draw back is that it won't charge your ipod.

Kenwood Kdc-mp425 will not switch to Aux. Aux cable is connected to the back of the headunit, but no aux option is available on menu for either my ipod touch or my sirius unit. I've accessed the menu from...

Apparently, this auxiliary input only works for a Kenwood CD changer or a sirius radio connection. At least that is my conclusion after finding the same problem. Let me know if you figured anything out on this.

Get a cassette to ipod hook up. They are just black cassette tapes with a cord coming out that plugs into your ipods earphone jack. They're usually around $20.00

Switching on the auxiliary input

According to the manual, the AUX input is an optional accessory.

Check to see if the RCA jacks are labeled. I believe they are pre-outs only.

Best of Luck.
