Microwave Ultrawave with Hood fan

I have an Elite Microwave Oven/Hood Fan Ultrawave, Manufactured by LG. My kitchen timer will not work on 20.00 minutes and show the error F4. Also my 5 speed fan will only work on 1 speed. Could both of these need a new oven temperature sensor? Thanks, Marjorie

You are right. f4 means shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Kenmore Elite Microwave oven 63792 doesn't heat - all lights, turntable, fan, etc. work just fine.

Most likely it would be a bad magnetron since the light, turntable, and vent fan are running.

LG LMVM1935SB OVER COUNTER MICROWAVE

The unit will work just fine on the counter, but obviously the lights underneath won't show and the exhaust fan won't be of much use.
Otherwise, it's perfectly ok!

Fan starts intermittently Amana AMV5164BAB microwave oven

Sounds like a loose connection or a failing hood thermostat. That's right behind the control panel on the base plate. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://www3.sears.com/
