When a washing machine drum is removed from the tub after it has been in service for a while a number of objects are often discovered - bra wires, buttons, underwear, coins...

There is a balance sensor in the machine that checks to see if the load is distributed for high speed, When that sensor goes bad, the machine wont spin the water out of the clothes. YOu need to check for spares

Complete drain must occur before spin. A no drain situation would be an actual full pool of water seen in the bottom of the machine if all the cloths were removed, sounds like you are experiencing a spin enable switch failure, which mainly prevents final high speed spin leaving the cloths dripping wet. The spin enable switch contacts become tarnished/corroded over time resulting in poor connection. If the door lock light comes on than your door lock wax motor is working. The spin enable switch is the last switch to the right in the door lock unit where the light bulb is. Part# is 22002162. If there is an actual pool of water in the bottom of the machine as if you simply removed the cloths from the unit but left the wash water, than you should look first look to your drain pump for failure, or obstruction of foreign objects, or excess lint in the pump. This happens to me sometimes. My washing machine doesn't drain right into the drain, I have a pipe coming out of the back of the machine that I have to hook into the kitchen sink myself to let the water drain out. My washing machine was still full and I realized that it was because my sink was a little blocked and so it was draining too slowly and leaving water in the machine. If there was too much water, it would sometimes help to put the machine on again or put it on a drain cycle. My machine doesn't have a spin cycle so it will just give your clothes an extra spin so I couldn't do that and my clothes would still come out dripping wet. you have a clogged drain hose or the house drain itself where the drain hose is attached to. a little detective work is needed to solve this one.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

Irt sounds as if your pump is somewhat blocked.

HI. your unit is equipped with a spin control board. this board, if damaged, will not initiate an adequate spin. This will not allow for proper drainage and drying of the clothes. The spin motor regulates the rotation speed during the spin cycle. It seems to be the culprit at this time. Have the spin board replaced asap.

This part will usually cost around $150.00 at the most.

I assume you have removed the lint filter at the bottom of the machine and cleaned it out to make sure the pump is not stalled on a 1 pence or bra clip. Can you hear the motor start to spin? If not its probably because the water level switch is gunged up at the bottom of its rubber tube where it comes from the drum. Remove the top of the machine and locate the pressure switch - usually a round black or white device about 80 to 100mm across with a rubber pipe on a small spout 8mm diameter. Take the pipe clip off using pliers to compress it and move it back down the pipe. Remove the pipe and blow hard down the pipe to try and clear the blockage - you will hear bubbles blowing in the bottom of the drum water. Also you could very very gently blow into the switch stub pipe and listen for it changing over - clicks usually twice each way - blow - two clicks, release - two clicks. Restore swtch pipe and try the machine again. Good luck.
