Hello
If your system is delaying in the shutdown process it may be the required INF files missing in the OS.  If that is so you need to re-install the OS and make sure that you may shutdown the system properly and do not swith off the system directly.

Let me know if your problem is solved and rate me as FIXYA!

My comp shuts down at least once a day. i shut it off wait a few sec and start it back up, seems to be good for several hrs. i have run ccleaner and microsoft essentials and they both allways say there is...

it could be a power supply issue.. shut down the computer

remove all connections that go to the power supply , look inside the connectors and inside the mainboard coinnections, make sure there is no corrosion or dust in the connections

use something , like CO2 air can to blow off the dust from the mainboard..

plug all connections back.,. start computer ..if problem persist, it couls be a hardware or s/w compatability issue.

I re-started my toshiba A135 laptop, and the screen went black

There are dozens of possible root causes for your problem I guess.

But exactly the same happened to me in fact on a packard bell laptop. After my son forced it to reset, it didn't start again. Only one led was lit. After a long search I found that the battery had died and this prevented the laptop to start even when the power supply was plugged in.

Try this: remove the battery, connect it to the power supply and restart.

Hope that helps

E-machine computer will not shut down

When you say "it will not shut down", are you referring to clicking on start and then shut down?

You could try forcing a shut down by holding the power switch down for about 5 seconds.

Tv shuts itself off

The power supply may be going on to protection mode. This is usualy because one of the scan amplifiers may have failed, or something is taking too much current and forcing the power supply to shut down.

I recently purchased a Toshiba A200 laptop. When shutting down, I pressed "Hibernate" and I now cannot get the laptop to start. Can you please help??

push the on/off button once, to try to open the comp (does not matter that it won;t open), than pres the button continuosely for about 6 seconds (to force it shut down) and than press again once to open ....

if that does'n work than depanding on the OS u;re useing, u have to force the OS to start in normal mode or to check it's self. (for windows, press F8, than u;ll have a start normal mode option ...)
