Typically this problem is caused by a relay selonoid located at the output hose of the water pump. You will need to remove enough of the outside cover to see the water pump. The valve that is connected to the selonoid will be visible - and you can place the machine on the drain portion of the wash cycle and you will see that the selonoid does not operate. It can be removed (2 or 3 screws) - and a new one installed. That should cure your issue.

Ironically I just had this happen with my dishwasher.. The lever that is operated by the "drain" selonoid would not move. I hand operated it to the "other" position and turned on the dishwasher - sure enough the water came out into the sink drain. Confirmed that the selonoid was bad.....replaced it and problem solved (Hotpoint model)

I Maytag centennial it finish it cycle but it still sounds like the water is draining

If your Maytag Centennial washing machine is making a sound like it's draining water even though there's no water in the tub, it could be an issue with the drain pump. The drain pump is responsible for removing water from the machine during the spin cycle.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Unplug the washing machine and remove any remaining water from the tub manually.
  2. Check the drain hose for any kinks or blockages. If you find any, clear them out.
  3. Remove the drain pump from the washing machine and check for any clogs or damage. If you find any, clean or replace the pump as needed.
  4. Reinstall the drain pump and run the washing machine to see if the issue has been resolved.
If these steps do not solve the problem, it may be necessary to call a professional repair technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

Kenmore Model @16969990 Washing water doesn't pump out, cycle doesn't finish, attemptes to run other cycles default to "normal wash"

The drain cycle does not complete as the drain pump is not working the pump out the water. So unless the drain level comes down to reset the water level controller the program does not progress further.
So check the voltage during the drain cycle if voltage is present then the drain pump is faulty if not the main controller is faulty.
replace accordingly.

My washing machine will not drain. It finished all the cycles but didn't drain after the rinse cycle. It still spun afterwards with water still in it.

Water runs into tub but does not fill?

be sure the drain hose is not lower than the wash tub this will caust the water to run out, 2nd be sure the drain hose is not pushed to far into the house stand pipe and the there is rome for air to go inbetween the drain hose and stand pipe eather of these will cause the machine to siphon mostly on rince cycle or on the 2nd and third loads you do. last your house drain could be starting to back up fill the washer with water and listen to it drain if you hear a gurggling sound in the house pipe you may need a plumber to cleanthis out for you.
