IRiver iHP-140: Where can i find a replacement charger?
My iRiver wont charge up so i cant use it at the moment.At first i thought it could be the internal battery but after trying my uncle's iHP-140 charger it worked.i think maybe the fuse has blown on my charger but i cant get the plastic casing open to see.ive tried looking on various site to find a replacement but am having trouble finding compatible ones now that my mp3 player is 4 years old.Does anyone know where i could order a replacement charger (that will work in the uk)?
I threw it at the ground caseless, whoops,....plugged it in when i got home to try to turn it on, small bit of snoxious smoke then screen goes blank. kaput. This was was a little over a year ago. What's busted with it? Every single component? I doubt that so where can I find the replacement components for this device? Do they exist? ebay? Are there schematics out there of this device and a list of frequently diagnosis?

Sounds like the update didnt go very well. I suggest you take it to an Ipod authorised dealer and get them to reflash it for you. AND the latest firmware:) May be the only way to fix it:)
hi there, open iriver again and take new drive out (reinstall hard drive, just an adjustment process). close it up and try to download / play a file.
now if this process dont work, save iriver software to pc and format the hard drive (this will erase the hard drive songs and all)..now reinstall the software from the pc...download your songs back to iriver and you should have a brand new Iriver ihp-140............if heplful feel free to rate
If it is the power switch and it is out of warranty you are out of luck. This happened to mine and iriver will not fix anything not in warranty. Bill in AZ

be careful I once fried an IHP-120 by using the wrong charger. I replaced the battery but taht wasn't the issue. I had it replaced with a IHP-140 and now my old charger has gone too. I got a replacement through the company I bought it from but they have none left.

Open the player and test for battery's voltage. In case of a low voltage measurement,you should replace the battery.I don't want to be cruel with you but, maybe that the player power circuit was damaged as well,and in this case it should be repaired by a certified technician (I realy hope for you that this is not the situation).
