Incoming calls to NW Bell model 20270-1 ring twice then hang up
Just purchased (online) NW Bell model 20270-1 for aging mother (for the senior features). Connected as per instruction. When anyone calls, caller hears it rings twice, then the call is disconnected. Have confirmed with TELCO that blocking/rejection is not engaged. Any reports about this problem? Also, anyone have a tec-support number for NWBELL?
Thanks.

That is an odd set of events. It is funny, we have seen this model crop up a number of times recently, You have done all the things I would have suggested. My only observation is that disconnecting power for the base station for 60 seconds is not really long enough to dissipate power and RAM memory. I would disconnect last thing at night and in the morning when you wake, press and hold the locator button for a minute to make sure all the power is gone from internal components. Then reconnect it to phone line and power.
I wasn't able to find much online, but without seeing what the screen looks like upon receiving a call, I would imagine like most Androids, that you press and hold the green phone icon and slide it.
I had the same issue until I realized that I was touching the button twice,- first answering the incoming call, then immediately hanging up!
When you first tap the button there is a slight delay and the incoming call seems to be still ringing but you've really already "answered" it. Just tap once, be patient a couple of seconds and say"Hello". Your caller will be there!
