Your oven is in celcius mode to change press bake and broil at the same time SF will appear then press broil and cooking time at the same time a C will appear press again to toggle to farenheight then press start to lock it in that mode. Some models when you press the bake and broil the sf will appear if it does press the press the broil button to toggle between C & F then press start.

GE Profile PT916SM1SS will not heat up past 290

Hi,

please check that the oven isn't leaking heat into another area. Or maybe your settings need some calibration or the temperature sensor for the oven is off by 60 degrees. If this is the case, changing the temperature setting to 410 should bring the internal temperature to 350 degrees. Please try this.

Thank you.

Frigidaire oven won't heat past 355

Contact a professional to have the unit diagnosed for repairs. Sounds like the heating elements are either faulty or the main control board won't allow the unit to heat up correctly.

Hotpoint oven won't heat above 250 degrees broiler works fine as well as the stove top

either its the oven sensor rod located at the top of the ovens cavity,or your bake element could be getting a hot spot which is when it gets a discolored spot in the element and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the oven past 250 degrees

We have an Gaggenau eb 290 oven and the error code F23 shows up - what does this mean? how can we fix it?

F23-relay electronics not selecting. There is either a fault with the pcb or a loss of continuity within the ribbon cable. Unfortunately, I think you are going to need an expert to look at this to confirm.
Sorry I cannot be of more assistance but some faults do require a physical check from a professional and cannot always be sorted out from a distance.
All the best.

I have a frigidaire oven model # PLEB30S8CCB won't get above 290

The coils should glow red when working. If the lower (bake) element does not glow it may be burnt out. Some ovens cycle the bake and broil elements during preheat and that mey be why you are getting some heat.
