Hello
Your TVs system memory IC has damaged. System memory IC is one which stores all the data we give to the TV externally. This IC is a small one which have 8 solder terminals, and very cheap to buy. Can be located very near to the main system control IC. All the data we gives, and the data that has processed by the main system IC, that is brightness, contrast, colour etc:- are stored in different memory locations of this IC, and wiil be retrived back to the system control IC, as and when requred and preocessed by the system control and given to chroma and other section of the IC as we switch on the TV every time. Although this is a Small one and cheap to buy, its function in the circuit is typical. In fact this IC controls the all other functions of the TV.
Replacing it will solve the problem of your tV. It is very important to note the number of this IC. The number will be printed on it, and should be noted when buying a new one. Insist on same number, and not replace it with equivalents. The set won't even switch ON if you replace it with other numbers. It can be bough from most of the electronic soare part shops at your town. OK.

Samsung model hlt4675sx\xaa projection tv wont work. the stand by/temp light flashes red and the lamp light flashes green? it makes the sound that it makes when it turns on but no picture. we looked at the...

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

DVD won't play movies in color

RCA cable connectors (red, white, yellow) are usually for an analog setup. You could still use these for "component" setup, but know the difference with color stamps as follows:

Component color stamps are "blue, green, red" ( blue is marked Pb, green is marked Y, red is marked Pr)

RCA color stamps your using are "red, white, yellow"

Here are the proper hook up method for "Component" using your "RCA" connectors:

On both the TV and DVD component setup:

Plug the red RCA fitting in the component port marked "Pr (red)

Plug the white RCA fitting in the component port marked "Pb (blue)

Plug the yellow RCA fitting in the component port marked "Y (green)

Be sure this setup is the same for the TV's component input ports, and the DVD's component output ports.

i-Note:

For optimum picture quality you may want to purchase component cables as the gage is thicker giving better impedance match resulting in better picture and sound quality.

Green box keeps popping up in upper right corner

You should be watching your dvd's on an input and not on tv analog 3. Every time the tv "senses" a signal change in the audio that screen will pop up. Connect the DVD player to the tv by using either the red, white and yellow (composite) connections or using the green, blue, red, white and red (component). Once you are on an actual input that box will stop popping up.
