I do not know how to put the tape into the calculator. There is a place in the back that it looks like it should go - I put it in there, press the advance paper key and nothing happens.

Push the roll of paper in until it will go in no further. On mine, it goes a bit more than a quarter of an inch. Once the paper is in all the way, press the Feed button until it shows at the top.

If it is still not feeding through, you may have a jam somewhere. Take the top of the paper area off and manually inspect the area to make sure nothing is out of place.

If you are still having problems, try feeding the paper in without the cover on. You can watch to see what is stopping it.

When I turn on the calculator it turns on but ony a large black sort of checkered box appears

A checkerboard cursor indicates a full memory. Press 2ND MEM 2 to bring up the memory management editor, and start deleting unwanted items.

If that doesn't work, try a hard reset. Remove all four AAA batteries. Press and hold the ON key for ten seconds. Replace the batteries. Turn the calculator back on.

I have a Canon P23-DHV calculator and I cannot remember how to load the paper into it. I tried to read some of the solutions but could not ger any of them to open so I could actually see the solutions

  1. cut the paper/tape cleanly on a slight diagonal
  2. hang the paper/tape so it comes from under the roll
  3. insert the fresh cut into the slot on the back (between the power plug and tape roll holder)
  4. press the FEED button to advance the paper.
Now, does anyone know how to turn off this blasted auto-shut-off feature????

Reloading tape roll on a Casio DR-T120

Place the tape between the two posts; then put back portion of cover down followed by the removal front portion - press feed button and it should feed. Remember it will only print on thermal paper ----

Paper/tape jam

Get a pair of scissor and cut through the tape. IF it is rapped up too tight where you can't get a pair of scissor through it, then get an exacto knife or razor blade to cut the paper. Just remember not to press too hard so you don't cut through the rubber roller beneath it.
After cutting the paper, then press the paper advance and start taking the pieces of paper out.
Good luck.
If you still have problems, feel free to repost again.
Have a good day.

I know i know

Had the same problem. The tape does not feed through the top of the machine but instead through the slot at the back of the machine. It looks odd, but that is where it goes.
