I just fixed this problem in a Go Go Elite that was less than 6 months old. We would plug in the charger and the "charge" light would not turn on, just the "power light" I took out the battery pack (check manual for instructions), removed the cover (8 philips head screws) and checked the voltage on the two batteries. One read 4.5 volts and the other 4.7 volts. They should both read at least 11 volts, ideally 12 volts. Evidently the Pride charger will not work if it detects that the batteries are too low. So I took out one battery at a time and connected a 12 volt auto trickle charger to it for 3 hours on each battery. Checked voltages and it brought them back up to 11.5 volts. I reinstalled the battery pack and then connected the Pride charger and THEN it showed a "Charge" light. I left the pride charger on for 12 hours and it brought it up to full charge.
Advice: Don't let your batteries get too low or the factory charger will not work.

Had the same problem, i took the batteries out and connected a normal 12volt car battery charger to each battery for 30mins. this was enough to raise the voltage for the normal charger to work

If it is only 11 months old, I suggest that you get hold of the nearest Pride service rep, and get them to look at it. It should still be under warranty. We are a Pride dealer, but we are probably a bit to far away here in New Zealand. Good luck. Neil.

SOURCE: Batteries are charged, scooter won't move, no power to display

It is impossible to overcharge with the Pride charger. When the battery is full, it will stop charging and check about oncew a miute to maintain the charge.

Now, when you plug in the key (looks like an audio headset jack) does the battery meter indicate a full charge? Also, the scooter will not move if its in free wheel mode, and it will not move if the charger is plugged in. Beyond these first steps, you will need a voltage meter to troubleshoot.

SOURCE: I have an Elite Traveler Plus.

The batteries will not accept a charge, therefore the charger things they are full. When a battery sits for that long then they drain beyond the point of repair.

SOURCE: battery won't hold a charge

We have had problems with scooter batteries from time to time and the repair man said to take apart the battery case and disconnect the batteries and use a car charger. I put the two battery in parallel and used a amp battery charger. This worked fine.
Don't run your scooter batteries all the way down when using the Go Go as the scooter charger won't always bring them up to full charge and you may have repeat this. Also running the batteries all the way down shortens there life.

Can you leave GoGo scooter batteries plugged in four three months

Do you mean a charger plugged in for four months ? or the battery pack on the scooter for four months ? if it not charging and left on the scooter they will discharge and may never recover.

Leaving it on charge for four months ?, the charger will go into trickle charge mode once it fully charged the batteries, manufacturers will agree this is a good thing , if left for weeks and weeks , it should be charged up fully once a week if not in use and i recommend removing the battery case as i seen issues arise from leaving a battery pack on a scooter for long periods of time, for starters they discharge quicker,.

My gogo elite traveller wont chrage. The charging light isnt on when i plug the scooter in.

Sounds your batteries are to low in voltage for the charger to recognize. Also check the fuse on the battery box, normally a red one 10amps.

How do I recharge the battery tried replaceing the fuses but it will not charge

the charging fuse on these is internal inside the battery box
1 carry out a continuity test in this blade fuse for open circuit
2 while open check battery volts is over 11 volt or scooter will drive=o/k if lower will need batteries replaced.
3.make sure your charger is the correct one for this scooter
as go go chargers conector are wired different .so a standard mobility charger wont charge these,as there will be no 24volt at pins 1 and 3 ,

My father-in-laws gogo will be not used for several months while he's in florida. how should the battery be stored/charged while not in use?

Charge the batteries fully and remove the battery pack from the scooter. About once a month charge the battery pack. It shouldn't take long to charge since you are not using the scooter Don't overcharge when the light on the charger turns green turn it off and unplug it from the battery pack. This should keep the batteries fully charged and fresh when FIL gets back home. Hope this helps you

It may still be under warranty.  What kind of reading did you get from the batteries? If they are below 12.0 volts they may have a poor memory. If you leave a chair un-charged for a long period of time the batteries can discharge to a very low level. The charger cannot bring a battery up from 11 voltsDC. You will need a slow car type charger or new batteries.
