The picture went out on my disney portable dvd player. I think it is just the light as I can see the picture faintly but no light. Is there a way to fix it?

I had this problem. You need to reset your dvd player. To do this: For the reset, the unit should be on Wall power only, with the battery removed. You set the LINE SELECt (on the side next to the VIDEO plug) device to IN, turn the unit on, after 20 seconds switch it back to OUT.

We had the same issue. Try clicking <play>1234<play> and it should unlockk the dvd in the machine. Seems to work on my daughters. It's a parental control of come sort. HTH.

If you still have use of the on screen menu functions, you can try using the restore to factory setting option in the preferences section of the set-up menu. Press the setup button on the remote control and use the up and down arrows to find and highlight the preferences section, press ok to enter the sub-menu.In the sub-menu use the up and down arrows to find and highlight the default option. Press ok. This will reset the dvd player to the factory settings. If you do not have the use of the on screen menu, you can use the a/v outputs to a external monitor or television to perform the abouve procedure to try to restore the dvd player to normal operation.
