THE DRYER HEATER OPERATES ON 240VOLTS. CHECK TO BE SURE YOU HAVE 240 VOLTS AT THE OUTLET. WITH ONLY ONE SIDE OF THE CIRCUIT, THE MOTOR WILL RUN ON 120 VOLTS, BUT THE HEAT CIRCUIT WILL NOT.
MOST DRYERS HAVE A HIGH LIMIT THERMOSTAT NEAR THE HEATER ASSEMBLY. SOME HAVE A THERMAL FUSE AS WELL. THE HIGH LIMIT WILL CYCLE, BUT THE THERMAL FUSE WILL NOT RESET. CHECK FOR 240 VOLTS AT THE HEATER TERMINALS. IF YOU HAVE IT, THE HEATER IS BAD.
IF NOT, TRACE BACK THROUGH THE CIRCUIT UNTIL YOU FIND THE COMPONENT WITH THE 240 VOLTS ACROSS IT.
THAT WILL BE THE BAD COMPONENT.
MAKE SURE THE SELECTOR SWITCH IS SET FOR HEAT.

CYCLING THERMOSTAT, TIMER, SELECTOR SWITCH, MOTOR CENTRIFUGAL SWITCH.

Check circuit breaker box Turn your dryer breaker off and then back on (reset) . If this doesn't help, does the dryer light go on
when opening the dryer door? Could be the High temp cut out
safety device because it's getting too hot.
what's the brand name and model number?i don't understand what you mean it won't blow hot or cold air?if you have the vent line off of the back and the dryer is running and you don't feel any air blowing out you could have a bad blower wheel,if you write back let me know if it's running and what it's doing.thanks
It's most likely a thermal fuse if it's a gas dryer. very easy to install. If your dryer is electric, it's either the thermal cut-off or the heating element itself. If you need help with anything, please feel free to e-mail me. good luck :)
it will either be the heating element or the limit switches both of which u gain access through the back or top of the macmine depending on how the macine is made.
If you can turn it on and have the door open, hold the door switch in and see if you have a glow from the heating element. If not, your element is broken. That is if it is an electric dryer. If it is a gas dryer you need to check the pilot light or the thermo sensor.
The heating element is in the back of the dryer. Sometimes there is a small access panel that will allow you to check the terminals to the heating element. You will need an ohm meter or multimeter to check.
