NOTES- you have to open the coffee...

Hold the set delay button while changing the hour and minutes to your desired time. The coffee maker will only stay on for 2 hours as it has an automatic shut off.
It is supposed to hold the coffe hot for 59 minutes , no more . After that it shuts off , fire hazard . Then you are supposed to wash it and make new coffe . Coffe after one hour tastes burnt , no good . Always make fresh new coffe .
Either you have a corroded electrical connection (probably in the plug) or an element is bad. Try cleaning both ends of the removeable plug until they are shiny.
The CBC-1600 is designed differently than you might expect. The stainless steel, insulated carafe is designed to keep the coffee hot instead of a hot plate keeping a glass carafe hot. Some people like that style better (including me). Some people - like my dad - don't think it keeps the coffee hot enough.
Your coffee maker is working exactly as designed. The carafe itself is designed to keep the coffee at the same temperature as it was brewed.
Is it the coffee maker itself or the warming plate?
If it's the warming plate I would suggest geting a coffee thermos similar to the ones they have at IHOP and other breakfast places, it will keep your coffee hot all day if you first heat it up with very hot water and your coffee will not have the burned taste
The wavy lines indicate the carafe pre-heat function. When it is ON the red light blinks for several minutes and the goes on solid. It doesn't start brewing until the light is solid red. Mine also doesn't seem to keep hot also.
