I am running a Peavey (unity series) mixer into a DOD 231 EQ, and out to an Alesis compressor, and finally to a QSC Power Amp. Intermittently, the sound from the Left Channel will drop out. I have noticed the signal lamps on the compressor go out as well. I suspect the EQ is dropping the signal.
Hi Darren.
I suspect you may be right about the eq here, though you probably have had it sorted by now.
I came across this thread because I was searching for a fix to my R-231 and was hoping you might be able to help me if you found a fix. I'm persisting with this one as I can't really get another just now and it seems that it's not a major issue. I managed to get a good signal out of it when I ran it without the ground connected on output???
Anyway, any info I would greatly appreciate,
Thanks,

There should be a line in for the power amp section, though you may prefer to patch in prior to the eq section so you can equalise the system and the room.
Wow....what you have here is a total system design. I really feel you need to get a professional in your area to help you out. There has to be a buddy of yours that knows enough to help out. There are just way too many variables in this that are unanswered. Amp channels, amp output, speaker impedance, other equipment needing balanced or unbalanced, type of jacks, stereo/mono, length of runs, power requirements. It would take me hours to look up the specs of your equip, a couple hours to design and hours of questions back and forth. At best if you let me know where you are I may be able to set you up with someone local to your area.
Hello!
SO I am going to give you more of a signal layout from the turntables (or whatever you use to DJ) to the speakers.
Turn tables-> Mixer-> Eq-> Amp-> Sub and other speakers.
The part that I am not understanding is why do you need the QSC amp if you have a powered sub? The powered part of that means that there is a built in amp, which eliminates the need for the QSC amp unless you are sending that sound to main (non sub) speakers.
Hope that helps!
The RSQ player goes into the input section of the mixer. The mixer effect send goes to the Quadraverb input and the output of the Quadraverb goes back to the effect in on the mixer. Now the Main out on the mixer goes to the EQ then the EQ goes to the compressor/limitor to power amp to speakers.
you will need an amp for extracting more power outta your speakers...Also you will have better control on bass, treble and other settings...So if you want to feel the sound you might need an amp....and a mixer of course if you wanna mix it up! Regards, Eagle!
