Can i get a copy of the power supply diagram for samsung 204B syncmaster ,i replaced the capacitors that were inflated in the power supply and in the inverter but the backlight not turn on. i want to know the volts ,and findout what's happening. thank you.

change the inverter if it does not work ,you will have to change the backlight bulbs or you change the screen

i hope you have not pressed lock button on your remote control - check this button once before replacing any components ..... check following links - regarding replacing capacitors - in 3rd link you will find power supply board - you will find similar board in your monitor also ..... on your board look for deffective capacitors (top blown) just as shown in these links --- you have to replace those deffective capacitors ----- my suggestion is you replace all the capacitors ( maximum there will be around 6 to 10 capacitors ) because other capacitors are also weak .. if not now definitely in few days they too will go .....and also capacitors price is less ....they are cheap .....regarding capacitor value --- see on all the capacitors on your monitor's power supply board ........ you will get exact value .... replace by same value .......

Hello,

This is a common problem with the Samsung 204B units that have been in service for a few years. Parts called capacitors in the power supply start failing and causing the board to not start correctly. The blinking power button is just the power supply restarting over and over. The monitor is easily repairable, you just need to replace the 5 capacitors that have failed. If you look at the board, you will see the p/n, manufacturer name, V (version) number. What kind of problem are you having with the monitors.

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). REPLACE THE POWER ADAPTER!

Replace the screen with a known working one. If it shows display then it is the screen which is broken, if not, then it could be the port on which it is connected.

this is very frecuent in all monitors or tv's lcd .... turn on 3 seconds and off the capacitors need to be replaced y sugest a technician

Got the same problem, happened yesterday for me, Did some research and it looks like its bad capacitors in the back, check out this page for more information... i'm taking mine to an electrician to fix today... luckily he's related and should be able to fix it on the cheap...
