Setup password I have removed the setup password from my laptop which i bought from a friend,however when i turn on the machine it still requires a setup password and would not even accept the old password I removed.

Your friend should get the password from the people he or she bought it from. That's the best way to get the admin password off. Since he paid a lot for it, i'm sure they'd give him or her that.

You would have to have there password. Then it's just in your control panel, under users then you should see the password options to change or remove you have to have the password.

which pasword is locked out. Windows password or startup bios password.

for windows password you can just format the system to remove it. if you need the data NT offline registry and Password editor can be used to remove the password.

if this is a BIOS password, there are hidden jump points that need to be used. This woudl require a service tech or a person very carefully jumping the positions so you dont' fry the board.

Many computers reset BIOS by removing the CMOS battery.Wait several minutes then reinsert it and restart your computer.

Some computer require a pin jump to reset the BIOS password. Check your owners manual.

to bypass CMOS SETUP password

*open the cover of you laptop,
*remove the cmos 3v baterry.
*remove the main battery
*push the power button for 10 sec.
*wait for 5 to 15 minutes
*put back the cmos battery and connect the main battery
turn on your computer and enter to cmos setup

When you start your computer, tap F2 key to enter the BIOS setup. In the security menu is the area for removing/resetting BIOS password.

YOU NEED TO GET INTO THE C-MODE SETUP TO DELETE ANY PASSWORD AND USER NAME. go to www.toshiba.com look for the support and go there. the fee they charge may be a whole lot less that bringing it to a shop.

BUT--this is a tricky issue..you need to contact toshiba as to the keys to get into C-Mode setup to do this.

the message referes to the fact that a removable drive (CD ) or ( mass storage device) was taken out before the computer could close out that program properly. It is looking for it to close it right.

nope..if you don't have the password, and they don't, then it's reformat time for that machine

But Most services are chargable, Why did,nt you simply ask your friend for The Password ?
