Fable 2 for Xbox 360: game wont read says put disc in xbox 360 but i am ...

The disc could be badly scratched. If it is, take it to a shop that will allow you to skim a layer from the disc. I think Blockbuster and Game have this service available.

Or it's your Xbox that is dusty inside. I'd recommend using a Lens Cleaner for this. Most electronic shops have them to buy, or you could look online for one.

Also, another little tip. Always install games to your Xbox Hard Drive, this will ensure the disc is hardly used and will prolong it's condition.

Check the format. I bought a Game off of ebay, and when it came, the Xbox 360 wouldn't read the disc. I examined the disc more to realize it was formatted for the Japan region...

umm in your words yes your xbox ate it did you move your xbox at all when you were playin it?

If you have recently tried to mod your Xbox 360 then you did not get the drive key installed correctly. Otherwise the laser lens is either dirty/ starting to weaken. You can either replace the laser lens in the disc drive, try to clean it, try the POT tweak or replace the whole disc drive. Keep in mind if you replace the disc drive you will need to swap the PCBs or the drive keys. Hope this helps.

Try your Fable 2 disc on a friend's console that you know works and see if it plays. This would rule out the possibility of it being your Xbox for sure. Then it would have to be the game. If you didn't buy it too long ago, look inside the game package and find Fable 2's tech support number or go to their website and try to get a hold of them. Good Luck!

May have tweeked controller settign in the game by mistake. Try going to your options menu and resetting everything to default. If the problem continues it may be a bad save file.

uninstall then reinstall

fable too wont work for me and i dont know why about that . try taking your xbox apart by looking it up at www.youtube.com it will bring you through the steps and it should be working. if not buy a new xbox wo hard drive.

Since your Xbox is brand new, you can just install Fable 2 to the hard disk of your xbox 360. I didn't have this problem with Fable 2 - but that's maybe because I installed it to the HD from the start. Fallout 3 did freeze on me, but installing it to the HD fixed the issue. Don't get any ideas though, you still need to insert the disk if you want to play ;-)

This is how you do it:

1. Load the disk into your Xbox 360 console and go to your Xbox 360 console
2. Scroll down to My Xbox
3. Scroll across to Game Library and hit the A button
4. This should put you on the Recent Games window and your game should be highlighted, so you should just need to hit the A button. Otherwise, scroll to the Recent Games window and choose the game.
5. On the game screen, choose Install to Hard Drive. This process should take a few minutes, but once it is complete, you'll be able to enjoy improved performance.

You'll also note that the game screen contains all kinds of great information about the game such as the achievements unlocked and featured downloads available for the game.

Try to do system maintenance also,

Go to device options and press X,X,LB,RB,X,X

Then select yes on the pop-up screen
