I have a Craftsman garage door opener 1/3hp chain drive part number 41A5021-3E The garage door doesn't work with the remotes. I replaced the battery in one thinking that was the issue then the next day it didn't work again so I unplugged the battery and plugged it right back in to the remote and it opened the garage door. The following day it did it again so I started using the other remote and that worked once. Now the last 3 days neither one has worked.
Sounds like your logic board is going bad. The part number you listed is the logic board.
Make sure the battery is good and then locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this button and then walk over to the keypad and key in a 4 digit code and press enter.
No each manufacturer uses a different code that is built into the keypad.
This button toggles off and on by holding in for 3 seconds.
Replacement of both springs is recommended.
