It is usually reccomended to let it stand in it's normal position for 24 hours prior to running to allow any oil to run back to the compressor. Unit should work.

Explain how to refill R134 freon

you should not refill freon, first because it is illegal. second, if you need a recharge it will just leak out again. third, to do it correctly will require braising with an acetylene torch.

I had to lay down my upright freezer for transport how long before plugging in and using it

Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote on moving refrigerators...if you did not do it thisway then you may well have ruined a perfectly good refrigerator.

Moving a Refrigerator What is thebest way

If you already have moved it wrong, you can sometimes get it working byplugging it in and unplugging it a number of times with an hour or so inbetween.

We sold a freezer, it was working at the time. The person got it home and plugged it in immediately and left it running for 8 hrs, before contacting us to say that it wasn't cooling. We suggested they...

if they moved it on it's side they damaged the compressor, the machine shouldn't be laid on it's side.if they let it sit for a few days it might have recovered.if it wasn't laid on it's side a wire could have been knocked off somewhere, hard to say without being there to look at it.

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Freezer frost

An upright freezer that is not frost free will have the coils in the shelves (shelves are non-removeable) and that is where the frost will buildup.  If your model is like this then it will have to be defrosted periodically.  If your not sure then give me the entire model # from the sticker inside the freezer and I will look it up for you.
