Mailbox recieves messages but is not saving them (KX-T7630)

When my phone does not answer, calls are forwarded to the answering machine, which I can hear and leave a message, but when I check my mailbox, it says there are no new messages even though I know there should be.

Hi,

This sometimes happens on my phone. The only way I have found to clear this is to leave a voice-mail. Check your messages delete the test message and your system should clear itself out.

I think what happens is it gets stuck thinking there is a message. So when you clear the new message it then realizes there is no more messages. I know this works on my phone and could be the same for yours.

    I've tried leaving messages, but when I got to mailbox it still says I have 0 messages.

    No, it cannot happen that your message are stored somewhere else.

    This is a Common Problem with these Handsets. Did you check, what i mentioned in my last comment?If not, kindly check and let me know.

    I can't do what you suggested because there is no message to clear? Like I said, I leave a message, but then when I check the mailbox, it does not register at all. It says you and no new messages, so I can't delete anything.

    It seems like this is a Handset Problem. However, try to go for a Hard Reset.

    Unplug KX-T7630 for Few Minutes, say 15 minutes and then again Plug it Back.If the Problem would be resolved, it's perfect unless it needs to get Repaired.

    There have been reports for the same by many users for the same problem.

    No that didn't seem to work.



    However, I tried calling the phone from my mobile, then I picked up and transferred it to the mailbox. Then it said "Please enter your party's extention" I entered 701 for reception. Then it went to the old voicemail message and I left an answer, and it worked.



    So somehow, there does seem to be two mailboxes....

    I believe I have two mailboxes. One at 798 and one at 601. But when I try to get in the 601 mailbox it just ends up dialling into the office instead.



    Do you know how I can access this mailbox?

How to leave a voicemial message
There are three elements to voice mail; having a Panasonic brand voice mail system, recording the greetings, and setting call forward conditions. Which ones have you done?

The default access to voice mail is extension 500 on the intercom, but we used to use 165. When you dial it, the lady says "welcome to the Panasonic voice processing system". If she doesn't or you're asked for a password, or you have not done the tutorial, then you need to do that and it guides you to the setup of the greetings, name, and password change. After that, you dial *710x 500 (or your VM access) # on the inercom to set call forward to voice mail, with 4 being no answer (my preference since it gives me the option of answering the 2nd call or letting it fall to voice mail), or 5 for Busy/No Answer.

The message manager (mailbox 998) and the system owner (mailbox 999) has the ability to access and change how the voice mail system performs. The owner can change your name for the directory or reset your password and/or
setup or delete your mailbox.

How to forward calls to another extension with panasonic kx-t7630
From the intercom dial *710x ext and # where X is 2/3/4/5 for All,Busy,No Answer,Busy/No Answer. There are some other conditions and Do Not Disturb in the dialing string (and 0 cancels) but that's the basic.

You might want to review the Operations Manual (OM) under Call Forwarding to see the complete instructions.

Changing Panasonic KX- T7630 Business Phone Answering Message
You don't "lose" the manual, it comes on a CD. The Panasonic system probably has a TVA voice mail system and it requires you to change the Auto Attendant greeting from the message manager's mailbox. If you don't have the passwords for mailbox 998 and 999, you need to contact someone who has them and a layout of the system.

Your Panasonic technician can guide you through the process.

the panasonic KX-t7630 doesnt have a answering machine and runs through voice mail.. if you have voice mail set up simple dial your number for voice mail (eg. 500) press 311, then record greeting at the end of tone. hope that helps

Message answering
The phone has a FWD/DND button. Is it lit? Press it and read what the display says. If you don't have any destination, then you need to dial a new forward code. That would be *710x where 4 is no answer and 5 is busy no answer (you get to chose) plus the VM extension and #.

If your VM is 165 and you want to forward no answer calls, you would dial *7104165#.

Forward to voicemail
It depends on what you mean by not set up. Voicemail has specific steps to make it work and it starts with admin access to both the voice mail and phone system. If it is already set up (ie you can call 165 or whatever the VM number is), then what greeting it plays will give you an idea if what needs to be done.

If it plays a general greeting like when you call in from outside, it may be that you just need to add the mailbox for your extension. If it doesn't answer at all, then it's probalby time to call an installer.
