The collate button is an electronic one on the LCD panel...not a separate button.
Now if the display is not registering the "finisher" / collator as being there then it is possible that something is wrong .. maybe the collator/finisher was physically installed onto the machine but maybe the electrical connectors were not plugged in. Ask the person/company that donated it if it was working.

There is no "SERVICE MODE" as such....adjustments are done thro a variety of MENU modes or the alteration or "bits" contained in various Switch settings. Unless you know what you ar doing you can get in a real mess if you start playing.

Yes this indicator comes on approx. every 84,000 pages of print.
The Drum cartridge is "fused" and it will have to be replaced as the machine will eventually stop printing.
When the new drum cartridge is installed, the light will be re-set and you will be good for another ( approx. 84,000 pages.)
You will have to contact a local Muratec dealer to either get the drum cartridge or have them replace it.

Try pressing Setting, *,4,5 then Enter.
If the Error code goes away thats great, but if it keeps coming back you may have a more serious prob that would require a serviceman.

OPEN THE MACHINE...THERE ARE ALSO GOOD INSTRUCTION IN THE USERS MANUAL ON HOW TO CLEAR ANY JAMS AS WELL AS ON THE DISPLAY OF THE MACHINE IT SHOULD TELL YOU WHERE TO LOOK.

0C means you have a cooling fan problem. Located behind the lower rear cover in the lower right hand corner of the machine. Either the filter has gotten caught in the fan "OR" the fan itself has gone faulty..."it is also a signal generator." So...check for the filter caught; or the fan may have to be replaced.

check ADF rollers and re-feed pads.(maint cycle approx.50~80K)
Also check ADF is square on copier..sometimes people push on ADF when moving machine and get ADF out of alignment.

Most Muratecs now a days do scan in color. The 2850 is one such model. So to answer your question you are incorrect.

In network environments the muratec's usually have to have the setup disk run. They do not work on the standard TCP/IP port. The disk creates a muratec port for the pc to print to.
