Washing Machine LG WD-1049 C

When using the 60 or 95 degree cycle only a little bit of water goes through the right drawer compartment. Then the machine stops and I can hear a humming noise but no water goes in the left drawer compartment and the washing powerder does not get flushed in. This is working alright with the 30 and 40 degree cycles.

Growing up in Europe with front loader washing machines I thought I only had to hook the machine up to the cold water tap and it would heat the water up to the required temperature. However, this model needs to be hooked up to both the hot and the cold water tap in order to function properly. Everything is working fine now that I have done that.

Hi There, My LG Washing Machine Model Number WM-12336FD will not take the fabric conditioner from the middle compartment of the detergent draw. The machine seems to complete it's full cycle during a...

The middle compartment is not getting water due to inoperative solenoid valve connected to the pipe leading to the middle compartment. Either the valve is not getting supply from the controller or the valve is burnt. This can be checked by using multimeter connected across the valve while the machine is running.

The inside of my washing machine smells

Regular cleaning maintenance is required to prevent odor build up inside the machine. The LG WM2688HWM has a TUB CLEAN feature, a special cycle for the cleaning of the inside of the washer. This cycle uses a high water level with higher spin speed.
  1. Remove any clothing or items from the washer and close the door.
  2. Open the dispenser drawer and add liquid chlorine bleach ONLY to the bleach compartment.
  3. Close the dispenser drawer slowly to prevent the bleach from spilling.
  4. Turn on the machine then press the EXTRA RINSE button for 3 seconds.
  5. Press the START/PAUSE button to start.
  6. Leave the door open to dry the washer door opening, door seal and door glass after the cycle is complete.

Most soap drawers have a plastic latch which needs to be pressed to release it.

You will find that there is a ball of soap congealed in the back of the dispenser drawer

Fabric softener compartment problem.

I have this problem as well.. All washing machines manufactured nowadays are energy effficient, which means that they don't use as much water as the older models. This can result in a build-up of bacteria in the top part of the washing machine, which is clogging up the bit where the water comes through to flush the fabric conditioner into the drum. What I have to do every so often, is to take the top off the washing machine and clean out the layer of black slime that has built up, blocking the holes where the water goes into the washing machine. Another contributory factor is that the usual program used is a 40 degree wash, which is not hot enough to completely flush the machine through. Manufacturers recommend running a 90 degree wash once a month with just washing powder in iit, no clothes. Hope this is some help

Leaking washing machine

you need to clean above where the drawer goes in, the water jet holes get blocked and spray sidewards. also you can reduce the water pressure at the supply tap to a fast trickle this will avoid jets of water flowing over and forward of the tray.

Fabric Dispenser

The detergent dispenser is located above the detergent drawer. A water pipe is connected to it and water entrance and distributed to drawer's cells (following the programmed cycle) by a lever's movement (part of the dispenser). The lever movement is controlled by two solenoids that received their power from the timer. By opening upper machine's cover you will have an access to the dispenser. Disconnect the power cable from the machine before moving to next test !!!! Look first that they are not any disconnected wires. Move manually dispenser's lever and see if water running to all cells (depend on your movement). In case it doesn't work properly remove the unit from the machine and try to clean it (I hope it will help, otherwise you should replace the unit). In case it works properly (manually) - you should test by a multi-tester solenoid's resistance. the one that doesn't have a resistance measurement should be replaced. Good luck !!
