Hi there, i have a tomtom GO 720 and when i turn it on it says no maps loaded. I don't have the original cd. Is there anywhere on the net that i can download them for free?

The maps are stored on the internal memory of tomtom go 720. You'll have to reset the unit, by pushing the small reset buton with a very fine tip.

They are the only one that can help you legally....
I did contact TomTom and they were very helpful. Basically the TomTom Go720 I had purchased new had non-legitmate maps so what I had to do was buy and download the latest Australian map which I did and hey presto everything works fine now. So if any others have a no map found problem then perhaps the maps you had were not the original and were probably patched.
Love this Go720 it has some great features.

I am having problems wid my tomtom 720 i was using it and all sudden the map dissapeard and i cant find uk map on tomtom or the pc i tried reset but got nowere and i also did make backup and i yhink dat dissapeard too and i dont want to pay for a map cos i bought mine brandnew just a year a go £330 pls help

I wrongfully removed my TomTom from the pc when trying to load mp3's. I followed the instructions but they said to remove it and I thought it strange at the time but went ahead anyway and now it comes up with the message "No maps found!" I have tried to restore from a backup I had made but to no avail. Still has the same problem. Just tried a reset by turning off and pressing the reset button with paperclip for 15 seconds but still the same.
Does it need some sort of re-format? I have no idea.

downloaded new maps and now have only guam
I updated my device by downloading the update prompted North America map provided by Tomtom Home but eventually showed an error message. Now I only have the Guam map. Even my computer does show the North America map though I made a back-up file...Help.
