Since the noise is louder, I would suspect a shorted high voltage rectifier diode or failed magnetron.
That model may have a 5-year warranty on the magnetron.

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:
- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part (such as a shorted diode)

Oven will not heat. The last time the oven ran it seemed to have an odor of overheated plastic while heating a cup of water in a glass cup.
My KitchenAid KCMS145J oven does not heat anymore . The display is fine & run normally.The last time the oven reheat for the Chinese food in container with small piece of metal holder.
