My Saeco Italia is stuck in the descaling mode. I tried to descale it yesterday and now it is stuck in the descaling mode. I have tried resetting as instructed in the manual and unplugged it overnight. It still won't stop trying to descale. Any suggestions?

Or try pushing the WATER button to end the descale cycle. NOT the descale button. The WATER button. Bet it works ...

I had this problem too. I was beside myself wondering what to do. I took the machine apart but there was nothing wrong. It was stuck in an infinite descale cycle. The 5 green buttons never blinked to say it was done. What finally fixed it was to close the steamer valve to where water was being being restricted from the steamer wand but still a little water was spurting out. It finally quit emitting water and the 5 lights blinked and the infinite descale cycle completed. This model espresso maker was a lemon and been nothing but problems.

My unit would not stop rinsing. I finally realized that I was causing the problem by refilling the tank as it drained. The machine needs to run out of water to end the rinse cycle. Not sure if that would have helped you, but it worked for me - - don't add to the tank - - a full tank of rinse water is enough, and let it run out at the end. You need to prime once you're done (open the hot water valve and leave it open until a steady stream runs out.)

How do I descale the Starbucks Barista Italia Digital machine? There is no "descale" option on the menu list like other machines I've had. I received this machine as a slightly-used gift with...

The Italia is programmed to descale the boilers on its own, when set in the correct mode. To program the machine to descale it's self, do the following. With the machine turned on, push and hold the descale button (bottom right button). This should light the top right red indicator light. Mix your descaling crystals in your water tank. Stir until they are completely dissolved in the water. Next have a container that can handle about 2 quarts of water under the steam wand, or have the machine positioned next to a sink. Next open the steam knob on the right side of the machine. You should hear the pump turn on and pump about 2 to 3 oz's. of water through the wand into the container. The pump should turn off and there will be a wait of about 2 minutes. The pump should turn on again and more water will come out. It will do this until it has completely drained the water tank. Do not interrupt this cycle until the machine has stopped on its own. When it does stop, all lights on the top will flash. Rinse out the water tank and refill with fresh water. Place the water tank on the machine again, push the descale button, then close and then open the steam knob again to let water just flow through the boilers until it is emptied by the machine, but don't turn off anything until the machine stops again on its own. This will clear the descale light. Refill the water tank again with fresh water, then open the steam knob to prime the machine and your ready to go.

Descaled and rinsed the machine. now it is stuck in the rinsing mode. how do we get out of this cycle?

If you are rinsing after doing the descale it has to run out of water. The pump will quit and the rinse should be gone. The you have to go into the menu and select "reset descale" and chose "YES" and then "enter", then you can exit. It will tell you when it needs to be descaled again. Make sure that your water hardness is set to "4".

I have a saeco incanto classic I have tried to descale 2 times and the red light will not go off, is there a reset buttton?

Hi
In order for the light to go off, the machine has to stop pumping on its own, both in the descale and the rinse mode. If you stop it before its done it will still be in the descale mode.
Once it stops on its own, the lights will change. Then do the rinse by replacing the water in the tank and closing and then reopening the steam knob and again letting the machine quit on its own. Again the lights will change. Then repeat the last cycle (putting water in the tank and closing and then reopening the steam knob)until all the red lights go away and you only have a green blinking light. Now your finished descaling a compact without a digital display.

After descaling the two coffe cup lights keep flashing .

Hi
You have finished the descale process and your descale light should be gone. Put a fresh tank of water on the machine and then open the steam knob. This should clear the water light and your machine will start heating again.

Saeco italia error

What happens when you open the knob on the right? It may just need priming.
