AVANTI w851 washer. Regardless of water level selected hot water keeps coming in while machine goes into wash cycle. Have to shut off hot water to prevent overflowing. What are my options? Petruchio.

When in RINSE cycle hot water faucet is cut off, otherwise it would overflow in WASH cycle.

When power turned off I opened hot water faucet. Hot water start coming into the washer. Looks like inlet hot water valve does not hold.

It sounds to me that the water inlet valve has gone bad. Each side, hot and cold has a solenoid attached that cuts the water off during the cycles when proper level has been reached. To better research this part for you on cost and availability, I will need the complete model number for the washer.

Kenmore Washer only leaking from one area

Ive never worked on a Kenmore but it may just be the overflow outlet. All washing machines have an overflow which will dump water out from the top of the tub if it overfills but sometimes on high fill water level, clothes can splash around and cause a "wave" of water to splash out over the overflow outlet. Check to see if the leak only occurs when you have selected high level fill.

Kenmore 44832 hot water won't stop.

If your washer is overfilling, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Water-level switch
Water-inlet valve Adefect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able toshut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. Ifthis occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. Intime, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you needto replace the valve.

Water-level switch Adefect--or an obstruction--in the water-level switch may mean that itcan't tell the water to shut off. So the machine overflows. This switchsenses the water level in the clothes tub. It's usually a diaphragmdevice with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and thebottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tubincreases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When thepressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts offthe water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. You caneither clear any obstruction in the tube or replace the water-levelswitch.

Maytag washer LAT9406AAE overflows and will not advance through any cycles

Check the small hose that goes up to the water level control. Check and blow out any water in it. Replace if it is loose or any broken fittings are in the line. IT works by building up pressure in the line as the water rises and activates a switch that is set by the water level you select. IF it doesn't sense the pressure it will allow the water to keep running. Unless it switches off when full there will be no further progress in the cycle.

Hi! I have a avanti wash machine portable one like the one from the picture with push bottons for about 5yrs. This morning i put it on to wash a small light quilt like always , the machine is covered when...

the problem with push button washers is that the buttons can be in a partially pressed position and that causes all sorts of problems like what you describe
covered is good but a button could be partially pushed from something being placed on the cover
start from one end and press/ release all buttons to check for button problem

Kenmore washer overflows during rinse cycle.

SOME OF THESE MACHINES HAVE TWO PRESSURE SWITCHES IN THEM, ONE FOR THE MAIN WASH WATER LEVEL AND ONE FOR THE RINSE WATER LEVEL. CHECK FOR A PLUGGED AIR PRESSURE HOSE FIRST AND THEN CHECK THE PRESSURE SWITCHES.

Leak where water enters drum

I would say you havda inlet valve. With the washer not in use and empty after about 2-4 hours do you notice that you have a semi full tub? If it is filling with water by itself you have a bad inlet valve all you have to do is take the top panel off you will see the valve it's what is attached to the fill hoses. When you have dirty lines the dirt goes through the solinoids and keeps them open causeing the water to come in when not in use.

My washing machine keeps leaking from the bottom

There are many possible cause of a leak. If it is set to portable make sure that the faucet is off after the cycle. You also need to make sure that you are not over loading the washing machine. Please refer to owners manual how much is the capacity your washing machine can take. Drain lines is also a possibility for this leak as well as the intake inlet. If it's leaking in the center most likely the bearing have broke off and you might need a new center seal. This job requires a professional to be replaced. My advice for Avanti users is to return it and buy something else that is trusted and branded for quality and performance.
