VR 2 is the pot you are looking for an now you need a modulation meter. Speak into the mic at the volume you will be talking on the radio. One one one one while adjusting for 100 percent anymore an you will begin distorting.

check fuses and reverse polarity diode and also turn radio to on position ,SQuelch turned all the way to left and RF gain all the way to right.

Where did you buy the radio at? Can you return it to the store? If you purchased it at a big box store, like Walmart, they will take it back without a receipt on an exchange.

More than likely the radio was wired backwards by someone, which blew the protection diode, and then was returned to the store and put back on the shelf.

If it is just a blown protection diode, it is only a $10 fix at most any cb radio shop.

there is but if u get it wrong then you are stuft. i would just try the earth first cause altho the swr is good if the grounding is poor this will effect sigal.depending on mounting will depend on earth solution

Look at Radio Mods or Defcom mods. To clip modulation diode inside radio. Take to Cb shop to Peak&Tune. It may be wound to high in carrier but not audio. Buy you a "Power Mic" at Radio Shack or WWW.COPPERELECTRONICS.COM.

i know this sound daft but have you checked to see if the switch has been knock from cb to pa. it is amazing how people miss the smallest things.

Make sure you have the CTTCS codes the same on each radio! Also PMR446 radio's wont be able to talk to GMRS radio's
