Was reset, but when I log in why is admin password not accepted?

Are you trying to use the admin password that comes default with the unit, or the one you were using before resetting it. After you reset the unit, the admin userid and password revert to defaults. Check the router documentation for default password info.

Server won't accept "admin" and blank password, so I cannot setup the router

some of the D-Link Routers accept admin as the user name and admin as the password.
Try this link for several password combinations: http://www.default-password.info/d-link/

If you reset the router to factory default and use admin and no password you should get it or sometimes admin and admin for password as well or check the manufacture website to find out what is the default user name and password for that model

Netgear dg384g v4

First check that you do not have capitals lock in.Then try again the following whilst you put http://192.168.0.1. on your browser.

Default: 'username: admin password: password".
or
'username: admin password: 1234".
or
'username: admin password: 'blank empty space here'".

If all the above does not work then your router had been used, and password changed, or is fault. in this case bring it back and ask replacement.
There is also a reset button at the back of router. It is a tiny hole where you stick a pencil on router startup to get reset. But if the router is new and does not get default user/password I suggest changing it, It is possibly a return, and you do not know if you get more troubles after reset.

regards
