Depending on the type of microphone used, if not the type using the speaker as a microphone, it may be damaged. I would though, suggest you remove the battery, open the case and allow the innards to dry in a warm place for several days. Even daily exposure to the sun should work fine.

Talkabout MH230R does not Receive or Transmit on channel, can just Transmit (only clicks when Recieve) when programmed 2 channels higher (i.e. all radios on 5-3, one is on 7-3)

Strange. Could it be any of the radios are from different countries? The channels are not worldwide. For instance, Canadian radios are on different frequencies than USA radios. They look identical.

How do you transmit from a cb radio to a talkabout fr60 and vice versa

CB radios and TalkAbout FR60 radios will not communicate together. CBs are 26-27.5 MHz and TalkAbout radios operate on FRS and GMRS frequencies between 462-467 MHz.

Best regards.

Doesn't transmit

Check your battery. Transmitting takes more energy than receiving. Also, check your frequency and code settings. The radio you are using this one with might have a different code setting than yours. http://shop.giantintl.com/Manuals.asp

One radio receives and transmits the second only transmits does not receive. Is this a setup problem, what am I missing?

You're not trying to use a privacy code on one radio without using the exact same privacy code on the other radio, are you?

Radius? manual? akkumulator

  • Channels 1-7 transmit these are GMRS and transmit on a slightly higher power. On these channels, in optimal conditions about 15miles. Optimal is out in the open with no obstructions. In a suburban setting with many building you may get 2 miles out of them.
  • On channels 8-11 these are FRS and transmit with slightly less power. In optimal conditions 15 miles and in a suburban setting you may get 1 1/2 mile.

MOTOROLA TALKABOUT T5400

First check your batteries. Try the battery pack from a known good radio. If you do not have a battery problem, your issue is probably non-reversible. Sorry. This style radio is non-repairable. The repairable Talkabout units include the Distance, Distance DPS, the TA-7400 and TA-7200.
