TV has a thin horizontal line across the screen

Our 8 yr. old Sanyo tv, when first turned on, has the whole picture in a thin line across the screen, horizontally. After about a half hour, a normal picture covering the whole screen will appear. This has happened for two days now.

Sanyo flat screen tv about 2 yrs old has thin colored horizontal lines down the right side

Nothing you can do about that...get used to it or change the TV.
It's a defect in the panel that can't be reliably fixed.

Horizontal Line

This is a problem with the vertical circuit. Look for a small flat IC attached to a heat sink. It should have about 9-11 pins and be marked LA7838 or something similar. Try resoldering the pins first. If that does not resolve the problem, replace the IC. The IC will cost between $10-$20.

Tv not working

this symptom, sometimes called the tube light effect, it is characterised by a bright thin horizontal line across the middle of the screen. this symptom is caused by a breakdown in the vertical deflection circuit. hence maybe the trouble maybe in the vertical oscillator, amplifier or output circuits. but if all i have said is not clear to you, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck!
