I have a 42" Philips LCD TV model 42PFL7432D/37 i accidentally throw a screw driver hit the screen, now the screen has whole bunch of lines and distortion images, can you help me? Thanks Ken

Your lcd screen is cracked and the only repair that you can do is replace the screen. This is not easy to do and usually not cost effective, assuming an exact replacement screen can even be found.
Sell the tv for parts on ebay or craigslist.

It sounds like you have done some research on this issue. My suggestion is that the power supply is supplying the dc voltages to the inverter boards it is just that the inverters are not working, it is suggested that you replace both the master and slave inverters at the same time, You might want to try using a flash light or other light source and shine on screen and then get up real close and see if you can make out the images, and if this enables you to see the images and it appears that everything is working except the back lights then I would feel comfortable replacing both inverter boards. Hope this helps.

I HAVE A PHILIPS LCD TV MODEL 42PFL5432D/37 WITH THE LCD PANEL BROKEN, CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME ON THIS ISSUE?

First, the used screen will be more than $300 plus shipping, new is almost impossible to get.
Second, you need to get the exact model number as printed on the sticker on the LCD panel since you will have to transfer all the boards from old TV to the new panel.

42in Philips HD model # 42PFL7432D/37 sound but no picture purchased: 12/07 1st event: 02/09 repair: digital processor replaced 2nd event: 06/20 repair: DC to DC converter replaced

My guess - the digital processor has failed again. Time to take it to a repair shop, hopefully it's still in warranty.

42'' lcd turns on no picture/menu

Your tv is being attacked by electrical surges which seem very violent and has already damaged some logic controls. Please invest in a AC filter which will protect your tv from such spikes....... but first you need to get your tv serviced from the electrical damaged it has already suffered.

Change the backlight (cold cathode light) on your monitor.. If you are able to open the back of your lcd monitor carefully, the backlights are located at the upper and the lower part of the edge .. replace it with conventional cold cathode lights(protective tube was removed)... there are also instances that backlight was good but the ballast transformer is burnt. Replace the ballast. Its very cheap to replace that.
