Becomes unbalanced very easily recently

I have fixed that same problem,
LCD Display board needs new capacitors installed.

You have to get in position so that you can watch it while it's running to see where it is leaking from

How is the water pressure? When it fills, is it different then before?

the top ring you describled has small drain holes in it to prevent this check to make sure all of them are not blocked

i think that 1 or more suspension rods r faulty. lift the lid and at the front of the machine u will see 2 plastic covers, remove the covers and undo the screws underneath. now lift the front of the hob up gently and u will see the suspension rods. they r easliy replaced. but first see if they havent just popped out. if they have just popped out look at the other 3 and refit to how the others are.if u need more help or u find another problem reply back and i will help u more.good luck

Sounds as though the Balance Weights have become dislodged? If this happens there are sensors that detect when it becomes out-of-balance, and shut it off to avoid any further damage.

You need to pull out the washer, TURN OFF THE WATER, then take the water hoses off the back of the washer. Check the screens inside the water inlets for debris. If that doesn't fix the problem you may need to ask fisher paykel if it's safe to put a chemical like limeaway in those holes to remove hard water deposits that have built up inside the valves.

Sounds like the belt is broken,which is good and inexpensive to repair. OR worse the transmission is shot!
Is there any oil on the floor coming out under the washer?
This is only one sign that means transmission.
Do not fix or replace a transmission on a old washer $$$$$.

If you talk with the company, they'll explain that their machines are designed to clean clothes in cold and warm water and that, in most instances, they don't feel "hot" water is at all necessary; especially if you use the soak cycle. You have to remember that the company is all about eco solutions and energy efficiency. They included the 'no hot water setting' work around just to as a customer accommodation. I haven't found that it takes all that much pressure, you just need to keep them depressed long enough for the unit to get the message and signal that it has.

My F & Paykel washer did this. There was a baby sock under the wash basin. I called for repairman and he found the problem.
