THIS IS THE FIX for Act of War and High-Treason

look no further, here is the solution for the memory and video memory crash. You need to go to your game location:
1- For steam users its Program Files (x86) >> Steam >> steamapps >> common >> Act of War High treason (else its the normal
Program Files (x86) >> Atari >> Act of War High treason and right click on ActofWar_HighTreason.exe and put the compatibility mode on one of the Vista.

2- Download
http://cns-spb.ru/d3d9.zipand put that .dll file in same location. Remmember to store this file for later use, since we dont know how long the link will be up and spread the massage since there are many who has trubble running this game.

Works at least on W7 Ultimate x64 sp1

Atari does not officially support 64bit systems for this game. You can however play this game by downloading and installing the file located here: TAGES 64bit drivers . It is compatable with english language computers dispite being on a german site.

Also you might want to try
*install High Treason patch #1
*close all other programs running on the backround
*run the game with with administrator account or with administrator rights
*run the game exe with Windows XP compatibility mode (if you are running Vista/Win7)
*There are a lot of reports that this game will not like more than 3GB of RAM
limit RAM size to 2GB by editing Win XP (boot.ini) or Vista/Win7 (bcdedit) or by removing some memory sticks

I bought act of war direct action in 2009 through steam and it worked fine for a while now when i try to launch it it wont launch and every time i verify integrity of the game it says its always missing...

If you are checking the integrity, STEAM should replace the file if it finds a missing or changed file. I am not sure why it would not.

If its not letting you fix the file from the integrity check, find any saved games you have (could be in my documents folder if not in steam) and re-install the game via steam. Right click - uninstall, then install. This will fix the problem.

High treason download won't work with my windows 7

First uninstall and reinstall the whole game. Then make sure you have the latest patch. If that does not help here are good instructions for installing AND running the game as administrator and with compatibility mode (if you are running Vista or Win7:
