Volume on tv adjusts automaticly - Televison & Video

Set AVL [Automatic Volume Leveler] function with DVD player; set to 'ON'. Refer its user manual to get more details about this adjustment. The procedure will be different for model to model.

the volume controler board on the tv could be at fault. the button could be damaged and connecting the circuit making the volume go up. failing that there is a cross feed some were on the feed were the wire from the control buttons go to the main board, dust a damp can cause this. or even just dust.

Follow owners manual to take tv out of automatic sound leveling mode.

Okay I just called and found this out. I have the 32 inch vizio hd flat screen. My problem with weak and fluctuating volume, was that I have a cable box. Go into menu, then audio and under the advanced audio section you will see srs trusurround HD and srs trusurround. Basically this function automatically adjusts volume levels for satelites and whatnot. But because cable boxes automatically have this feature you could just turn off the srs trusurround. Hopefully that should help you.

make sure the buttons on side of tv are not stuck in

go to menu check the sound option and set it

you wont be able to controll the volume from the tv to controll your reciever, but you can have sound come from both, with different controlls.
on your tv (not sure what you got) in your tv menu select : TV SPEAKER TO ON, and then the sound will come out your tvspeakers as well as the reciever, but to be brutally honest you dont want to do that.
that will cause an echo effect and will drive you nuts

I am having same problem on 32 inch same problem. After playing with board with no results,I tried front buttons and found that if I held the power button in ever so slighItly as not to turn it off, it fixed problem which is the micro on/off switch, I removed the switch and used the remote and everything is back to normal, I am about to insall a used micro switch after I finish typing this but I am sure this will clear up volume problen and menu going crazy problem if not I will just leave micro switch out and use the remote, and I will get back to this board only if that micro switch still causes the problem, so if I don't post in next hour the problem is fixed and I'm more than glad to help.

I found that the problem was also with my HD box. I was able to turn the volume up on the box.

There's a setting in the menu. I think it's called "smart audio". It's supposed to adjust the volume automatically for commercials. But I don't think it works that well. Give that a try.
