Canon powershot elph 320 hs

Hi Doug,
You are right in identifying the cause of the pre-mature shut-down of the camera during video recording. Battery saving features (auto-shut down) detect the camera as idle while you are recording. you could do two things to avoid this;
1. A short term practice is to manipulate the camera to stay on by using the zoom button, taking a snap-shot or anything like that from time-to-time, before the 2 minutes is up. This will keep the camera awake long enough for you to record a good length of video.
2. The second and permanent option is to program the camera - just as you mentioned. You can do that by opening the menu and under camera setting , scroll down till you find the auto-power save. Change the time to your preference

Please note: You have to switch off your camera as soon as practicable while the auto-switch-off time is set at a bigger value to conserve the battery. otherwise the battery will be drained quicker than you imagine.

I hope this helps.

I cant reset the dish washer is operating in 11 minutes which is rinse only??? I have turned it off, but it doesnt reset. can you please let me know how to reset it?

The reason for the dishwasher to default to Rinse only cycle is likely the heater is faulty. Does this happen with both the drawers?

Also make sure the top panel switches are clean. Use a damp clean cloth and wipe the top panel inside drawer.
By the way Fixya policy does not allow people to respond on direct email addresses. Sorry can't email you directly.

Videos stop recording prematurely

Use a lower resolution. According to page 36 of the manual, you can record up to 4GB in a single clip, and 4GB will hold about 11 minutes of full HD video.

Viewfinder fades out in sunny conditions and also I have the auto shutoff set for 10 minutes and it turns off in one minute.

All screens are hard to see in sunny conditions. Is the screen shutting off in one minute or is the camera shutting down in one minute? Does pressing the shutter button half-way turn it back on?

The lens comes out then the camera turns off

Your camera has it own doctor built in, if it sees an internal error it will shut down. When a camera turns on it goes through a series of tests, if one of these test fails your camera records an error. If the lens is moving in and out your camera is trying to get the lens to function. As such you have a faulty camera.

I try to record and in a few minutes I will get a message "memory full". I know it could not be because it was hardly on. There is nothing on it either. Can you help me? (VuPoint DV-DM1_VP)

The camera comes with only 32mb internal memory. In high resolution that will get you about 4 minutes of video if you're lucky.You need to install an SD card of up to 1GB. 1GB in low resolution will give you 5 hours of recording, high resolution about 90 minutes. When you first turn on your camera, there is a counter in the top right of the screen which tells you how many HH:MM:SS you have left in memory.
