If you have not erased the MP3 files on the Zune, you should still have them on the Zune and can play these MP3 music files.
When you plug your Zune into the computer can you see the MP3 files on the Zune as an external drive on the computer?
If so you can copy the MP3 files back into your computer.

The Zune does not as a "mass-storage device" so the previous posters solution won't work.
What you need to do is connect the Zune, open the Zune software and then click on the word "Device" in the top left of the software program. Then click "Music" and from there you'll see all the music on the Zune and you can drag and drop the songs/albums to the computer icon in the bottom left of the screen.

I had a Zune 30gb and all my music is on my comp with the Zune software. I broke my Zune 30gb and bought a Zune 120gb; but, how do I set this new one up with the software so it can get all my songs?

You will have to re-sync it. You cannot just upload the "image" of your old Zune. You will have to treat is as if you never had a Zune in the first place. You CAN transfer your Zune's name and tags, but you can't have it automatically upload all of the old songs onto it.

Q can my zune get pre existing music and mp3 from my pc files on it? i have several cds and mp3s i downloded for my last mp3 player and i wanted to know if they can be put on my new zune through the zune...

1) Insert the CD that comes with your zune.
2) wait for prompt, connect your zune through the USB cable.
3) New firmware will be installed on the zune.
4) Open the program called 'Zune' from "My Computer".
5) If your music is not in the default My Music folder, click Options > Add Folder To Library > Add Folder. Browse to select your folder, then click OK.
5) Click the circle made out of two arrows, this is your sync button.
6) A new tab with appear on the right side of the program, click Start Sync at the bottom.
7) Wait until you see Sync Complete, disconnect your zune and enjoy.

Zune 30GB

i'm sure that you will not be able to get your music from the connection from your other device because your computer identifies your zune as the name you if you put your "new used one" then it will not come up as " our stolen one "
