My name is Trent and I own a M-100 series Hammond spinet organ and until about a year ago, it worked great. Now, when I flip the switch to let it build speed, it does not seem to spin fast enough & it does not ''catch''. I have kept up w/ proper lubrication in the 3 ports and would like to be able to repair this myself. Please advise.
It is LIKELY that the lube (hopefully Hammond oil) has not been effective.
The principle is that the start motor needs to spin the generator ABOVE the operating speed and then it coasts down and locks in the syncronous motor when start is released. Hold the start up and wait to sense if a note is ABOVE pitch indicating the gen is spinning fast enough. (Have to wait for the amp to warm up).
You MAY have to use another method to get the oil to the bearings... have to oil them directely...
