Freezer runs continuously

Not necessarily. If it's the t'stat, the unit would continue to drop in temp. If temp does not drop, it may be a dirty condenser coil or other issues. Don't just swap parts, check things out. use thermometer and check temp several times over a long period of time. If t'stat is bad, temp will drop continually as unit will not shut off.
