Short Every time I plug it in, it trips my electric circuit. I must have gotten it too wet when I cleaned it. Will this dry out in time or do I need to replace the kettle?

possible shorted ignitor replace first unplug then try if doesnt pop circuit then replace

Allow to dry out for a while. Maybe just have some water in there. Possibly have a bad gfci.

PROBLEM COULD BE THE LID SWITCH ,GOT WET OR FAULTY, AND IT COULD BE COMPONENT AS PUMP OR MOTOR , AFTER YOU USUALLY CLOSE THE LID WHAT HAPPENS NEXT, DOES IT START FILLING WITH WATER/ COULD BE WATER SOLENOID VALVE FAULTY , WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IF YOU CAN REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENS AS SOON AS THE LID IS SHUT ,THAT'S WHAT MAYBE THE THING THAT IS SHORTING OUT, OR IF NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN YOU CLOSE LID NORMALLY UNTIL YOU SET UP CONTROLS

Possible that there is higher current drain which trips off the circuit. This can be due to moisture or dampness in the circuit , coils or the motor. You need to remove the top panel and dry using a dryer. check the connectors, check the main line , the motor circuit. Isolation of the motor or the heater can confirm the short if the circuit stays. Check the main power to the panel and allied circuit for possible capacitor leak or short.

It is cuesed by a short, If the unit got wet, try drying it out for a few days.(not in the sun) with winds, Open as much holes in the unit as you can if after the drying it is still doing it this short is caused by an electric wire thatch loose...
Fix it by finding the wire or by taking in to an electrician...

First, make sure that the plug is firmly pushed in.Except for electrical parts short-circuiting, which is usually accompanied by an acrid smell, there is a possibility that there is a lint build up which, when moistened by the wet washing, which may also cause a short-circuit.
Although not common, a burned out heater may cause a 'short', in which case the dryer will not get hot.
All dryers should be equipped with an overload switch that 'trips' in case of an electrical overload.
BTW, make sure the filter is kept clean. A clogged filter can cause overheating problems.

It may have gotten hot if you went too long before cleaning the filter. It sounds like you may have burnt it up. I hope not! You might also check to see if you tripped a breaker on the electrical panel. Try plugging it in an outlet that is not on the same circuit. If it works in another outlet, then you have just tripped a breaker.

You are going to have to let it dry very well. That's about all you can do at this point, as something electrical has gotten wet, and its tripping the unit to keep from burning out a part. Its just a matter of wait. wait, and so on. It will start again.

it is still wet you need to dry all electric parts use air pressur

GFCI's trip because theire is current leaking to ground. This often can be be caused simply by electrical components getting wet.

Or, it can be caused by a serious short to ground.

Fist, check to see if the inside circuits are getting wet from an internal leak. If so, fix leak, dry off components with a har dryer, try again.

If GFCI trips, it should be serviced by an experienced appliance repair person.
