Dishwasher won't start

Our kitchenaid dishwasher all of a sudden won't start. The normal light is flashing, but none of the buttons will respond. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any recommendations?

Hi,
The door latch pulls the door tightly closed to prevent water leakage around the door. It is also designed to prevent operation while the door is open. The door latch works in concert with the door switch to ensure that the door is tightly closed and latched
The door switch is a separate part from the door latch and is found inside the cabinet. The switch is off when the door is open. Depressing the switch closes the circuit and enables dishwasher operation. Closing the door does not depress the switch all the way. Only when the door is closed and latched, does the door fully depress the switch.
If the door latch is not properly aligned it may not pull the door tightly closed and the door switch will not be fully depressed. Unless the switch is fully depressed the dishwasher will not operate.
It is a simple matter to determine whether the door latch is the problem. Simply open the door, close the latch and select a cycle and depress the switch. Note that if the test is successful, with the door open, the dishwasher will operate and water may spray out. Make sure to first remove all tools from inside the dishwasher. Do not reach inside the dishwasher during the test. Now, inspect the cabinet where the door makes contact with it and locate the door switch. It may have a protruding button or spike or more likely it is a hole with a piece of metal or plastic inside it. You must fully depress that switch. If the switch is recessed, then use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil, to depress the switch.

The child lock light flash

Hello. Your Kitchenaid unit has the child-lock enabled. Look for a button(or set of buttons) that has a small lock symbol beneath or the word "lock". On most models, you have to push and hold the button(s) until the lock light goes out(usually about 3-5 seconds). That should disable the lock and the unit should operate normally. I hope this helps you!

Whirlpool quiet partners II normal light flashing

CHECKING KEYPAD OPERATION
A rapidly blinking LED over one of the keys of the keypad (or sometimes a "dead" keypad/console)
To determine if the control or keypad is faulty, do the following test:
1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
2. Open the dishwasher door.
3. Open console and disconnect the keypad ribbon connection from the control (at P1).
Make sure all other connections are made.
4. Put console back together. Do not close the dishwasher door.
5. Plug in dishwasher or reconnect power.
6. Wait 5 seconds.
7. Close dishwasher door.
8. Monitor the control's response:
If the control is OK (no longer sees shorts with the keypad unplugged),
it will respond by turning on a Drain Motor for 2 minutes.
Check and/or replace the keypad if the control responds OK.
If the control is not OK (still sees shorts with the keypad unplugged),
then the drain motor will NOT respond and will remain off.
If no response, replace the control.

All Cycle Lights on with one blinking sometimes working often not working.

1) tight the connector wires very well and clean with spray contact, of course unplugged the machine
2)resolder all point from the board for colder joint
3) Try again.
4) If the problem persist the problem is the board defective.
5) Call some service tech.
God bless you

Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDS01DJ Rinse only light is flashing. control panel is frozen with only rinse only light flashing. does not respond to pressing of any buttons. I flipped the breaker switch,...

Ok, Turn breaker off at breaker panel. Just off then on. The rinse only light should be on.....not flashing. Now press the start button first and hold; then press the cancel button. That should cancel all lights. Then press wash button then start. If the light is still flashing after you turn off breaker....you might have a bigger problem. May need new control panel.

I can't turn on my KitchenAid Superba dishwasher. I pushed Normal and Start, and the Normal light started flashing, but didn't turn on. Pushed Cancel and now both the Normal and Cancel are...

Did you try turning off the power and then connecting it again?
If still problem is there open the door. Press the following sequence of buttons HI Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry,HI Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry. Now close the dishwasher door and latch it too and press the cancel button. This must reset the dishwasher.
