Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, is there a cable box (receiver) used? If yes, please postback the brand & model number.
Offhand, best connection would be HDMI OUT of the Sony BDP-S360 to HDMI 2 of the LG 32LC2D.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
Hi
Thank you for your prompt reply. The LG has only one HDMI socket which works ok for Sky tv input but doesn't work when I change to the Sony blu-ray.
Phillip
Interesting that only a single HDMI. Must be a difference due to regional version.
Was HDMI selected as the "Output Video Format" in the "Video Settings" while in HOME Menu? Alternately, temporarily connect an RCA to RCA from the BDP-S360's LINE OUT VIDEO to the LG's AV IN 1 or 2 VIDEO just for the Blu-ray's menu to be visible.
Thanks Benimur I have made the connection RCA to AV2 via the scart socket on the tv. How can I get it to hand shake with the HDMI cable please.
Please try on the Sony's remote while LG is set to AV2:
Implementation of the above steps may vary depending on the regional version of the Sony BDP-S360.
press HOME;
select "Setup" using < or >;
press UP / DOWN to select "Output Video Format";
press ENTER;
press UP / DOWN to select "HDMI";
on the LG's remote, set INPUT to HDMI;
back to the Sony's remote, press ENTER;
test screen should show on the LG;
if none, press RETURN on the Sony's remote & set LG back to AV2. Confirm resolution of Sony;
if yes, set LG back to AV2;
on Sony's remote, select "Finish";
press ENTER;
select OK;
press ENTER;
on the LG's remote, set INPUT to HDMI and test with a known to be good movie disc.
Hi
Thank you again. I have tried a number of combinations without success. I will continue using the AV2 and will try the set up again over the week end.
