If you have a compact system CICS
Option1 - No programming you must take your phone with you
The phone is keyed to the DN / extension not the jack, Just take the phone with you no programming necessary or if you

Option2 - programming way leave existing phones
Feature **config
Password config
System programming
Change DN
OLD DN
NEW DN

You must leave your existing phones, To change your extension with another extension you need to enter programming mode by pressing the feature key followed by **266344.When prompted to enter the password enter 266344.
The screen should say TERMINALS&SETS.
There should be 3 triangles buttons shown
Press the lower right key 6 times until the display reads "System programming"
Press top right arrow (Show Key).
The display should display Change DNs
Press top right arrow
Enter old DN (extension of the set you are at)
Enter New DN (the extension# you want)
Press the release key when finished.

The system has a built-in feature called "Set Relocation", which will allow you to move your phone to another active telephone jack in your office and the extension number, voicemail box, and all features will stay with your phone.

Have your system administrator turn on Set Relocation, or check your Norstar administration manual for programming details. Or, you can call your telecom service company and have them send a technician.

How to I turn the universal volume on a Norton Networks T7316E Phone?

Have you tried to call the phone and adjust the volume on the set while the call is coming in? I think the only way you can adjust the ringer volume is if the phone is ringing.

When logging into the voicemail for a Nortel T7316E i get the Mbox Locked warning. I have followed the steps to reset my password and have successfully done that. I then proceed to access my voicemail with...

You're resetting the wrong password. Keep in mind that mailbox numbers and extension numbers are not always the same. When you're resetting the password, make sure that the EXT assigned to it is the right one !! If you're resetting the reception mailbox, it's usually mailbox 100 (regardless of what the extension number is)

My MBOX is locked on my T7316E Nortel phone. Also, trying to retrieve messages from home I somehow changed the password and I don't know what it is.

Feature 983 log in is 120000 (if 2 digit extension, 1020000 if 3 digit, 10020000 if 4 digit extensions)
Select Mbox, enter that locked extensions mail box number, You will see password RESET. Select RESET. Release out. This will reset that mail box password to 0000. Use feature 981 on that phone and enter the new default password of 0000. you will then be prompted to change the password.

Feature 985 will show you your mailbox extension

I have T7316E. want to replace the set with another set. How do I keep the same extension number? Thanks

Providing set relocation isn't turned on in programming, changing one phone with another will not change the extension number at that location.

How to move extension numbers from office to office using nortel t7316e

There is a feature built-in to the norstar system called "Set Relocation". When this feature is turned on, you can move a working extension to an unused/activated jack and the extension, features and mailbox will stay with the phone.
Have your system administrator turn the feature on, then move up to 2 phones at a time. The phone will go through 2 bootup sessions - be patient and don't unplug the phone.
Good Luck!

Nortel T7316E Voicemail

It sounds like both phones are set to ring on incoming calls and both phones are set to call forward to voice mail box with the same amount of rings . you should turn off the ringing for both phones that way it will not jump between the to mail boxes . now when a call is trans it will go to the box .

Programing my nortel t7316e charcoal to access whole phone lines

If you are fmailiar with the programming of the system, you must set the lines (3-8) to appear and ring on the extensions.

Assuming you have a later release MICS or CICS:

Press Feature ** 266344, then the installer password.
Press Show at Terminals and Sets, enter ext #.
Press Show until you are asked for the line number, then scan through the line appearances, and change to "Appear Only" on the lines you don't want to ring at that set.

Repeat for each extension you want to change.

DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH PROGRAMMING.....
